Just over from the United page lads.

See plenty of negativity on here atm, calls against owners etc. Yes, you're in a poor run, but things are never as bad as they seem. I even saw posts saying you were on you were way to mediocrity etc.

Reality is, you need some investment and freshening of the squad. Yet, two good midfielders in the door and you're flying again. Nunez is raw, but gets chances and I'm sure in time will convert more and more. You've a decent youth set up from what I can see, maybe time to throw one in and bring a bit of freshness. Different circumstances but I remember the lift United fans got when we had to throw rashford in years ago.

The past has shown that you wait for the right players and usually get them (Van Dijk and Alison spring to mind) . I've no doubt in the summer or maybe even January you will make adjustments. Believe me, from my experience panic buying is the worst thing possible.

You also have the benefit of in my eyes, the best manager in the world, or at least the second dependent on how you want to argue Pep. He will get it right, he does 9 times out of 10.

Anyway, good luck for rest of the season. Just thought I'd throw my thoughts over. I'm sure you'll be fine, and regardless of how the season ends you will be back stronger next season.

{Ed014's Note - I always said you were a nice guy Caolan ???

You are an absolute gentlemen sir. I'm not going to wish United luck because I don't want the sleeping giant to wake but I wish you all the luck in the world

Outside of football. ?.

Spot on Caolan, a very reasonable assessment.

And refreshing to get it from an 'outsider'.

There are measured posters on the LFC pages but there's also the same repeated panic merchants posting the same old crap every time things don't go our way. And the way over the top reactions when things go well eg: reaction to Gomez having a solid game v City. Best in the country one weekend and sell him the next - just pathetic.

Everything you say about investment and giving new players time to settle is completely valid. As is your assessment of our Manager.

Personally, I always thought this season might be difficult. Trying to integrate some younger players - Elliot, Carvalho, Ramsey, (Konate and Diaz even? ) - whilst everyone seemed to assume Nunez would work immediately due to the fee. CF is a key position and he needs time to adjust to us (and learn scouse etc), as the team also need to adjust to him.

Football ain't just about the good times like we had last year (unless you're City ofcourse) . It's about adjusting and evolving and how you react to setbacks.

I also think we'll be OK eventually. People just need to be realistic and have some faith and patience, all seemingly lacking in today's culture.

Nice one. It's weird seeing both of our teams mid table. Let's hope we can both sneak up the table.

Unapologetically Negative…. We have a nose bleed atm. We haven’t been this far up in ages. The might heights of 5th ?.

I’d imagine us and UTD would be the early favourites for the Championship title for the 23/ 24 season.

Sometimes in life you are the windscreen sometimes you are the fly at this moment we are the proverbial fly, we must learn to use our wings more.

I don’t really know how poorly run we actually are. Klopp seems to get off scott free in all this talk of transfers and planning. We never sign players he doesn’t want and he controls who we decide to keep.

This mythologised idea that John Henry is keeping Klopp hostage, demanding at gunpoint he works with what he has got, is absurd. Klopp at one point was happy to give Wijnaldum a new contract after he sabotaged our season and walked around the pitch for 6 months, then he demanded that they give Henderson a new contract when it was completely unnecessary, and then he admitted he would never push Ox or Keita out of the door despite the fact both have been our biggest weakness for years.

The club are shrewd and occasionally a bit stingy but this is a mess largely of Klopp’s making. He is too attached to this group of players and staff. People should stop looking for other people to blame.

OK AA but is the money there if Klopp needs it? Or is he making light of the reality that it is not? The other teams in the so called top 6 plus newcastle will continue to spend big for success; will we? Not getting a top quality mid signed in the summer was a huge mistake. Nunez has contributed little so we could easily argue that the money would have been better spent on 1 or 2 mids.

I thought Conte was asking for patience and money the other day.

Nice one, OP. You speak way more sense than many LFC fans across SM throwing their toys out the pram based on every result that does not go their way.

@Annonymous Woolback, I kind of see where you're coming from regardin g what Klopp is doing with transfers and all that. For ex. according to ED01 in the last podcast and contrary to the rubbish I have been hearing and reading from many on SM, the money was there for Darwin and Tchouameni which were Klopp's top targets so this idea that he is never given money to get who he wants is hogwash. We got Darwin and Tchouameni went to RM. Fine.

We also know that we have options should the top guy cannot be signed (see Salah, Mane, Allison) hence, were the other options not considered? Were others considered and Klopp vetoed them cos he has done that before (vetoed Ben Chilwell to play Milner at LB in 16/ 17 season) or what was the issue? I asked ED01 about it and I cannot see where or whether he responded or not. If we can, we need to know how things work before making an accurate assessment. Ed01 can you pls, help here?

{Ed001's Note - Ben Chilwell was having off-field issues and Klopp wanted to steer clear.}

Ok thanks, Ed01 on that one on Chilwell. Pls if you don't mind, could you comment on the question I asked in the same post regarding what happened after Tchouameni went to RM? Did Klopp not like the alternatives? Were there alternatives and did Klopp veto any of them if there were? Cheers, man.

{Ed001's Note - there were alternatives but none wanted to join. Laimer, for example, wanted Bayern, Bellingham had given his word to stay with Dortmund and didn't want to go back on it. I am sure there were others but I can't think of any off the top of my head.}

With respect, they are not alternatives if they were never going to even get off the ground.
That’s a wish list.

Thanks very much, ED01.

Juicer, all transfer lists are wish lists to begin with. Only when you start doing your due diligence, do you get the actual targets in terms of priority and rating based on what each one brings. Some will bring more, others will bring less.

Also, there are those names on top of the final list and those below and if let's say, Tchouameni, Bellingham and Laimer were on top of that list and didn't want to join or chose to go somewhere else, you are now going to the middle to the bottom of said list where the quality level decreases.

Then the question becomes at some point, "Is it really worth it at this point OR do we just keep our powder dry"? Not sure there are any good answers to that question cos if you panic-buy, you get a player like Arthur (who had fitness issues to begin with) at the end of the day. That's the issue, IMO.
