Gini Wynaldum has hardly kicked a ball since joing PSG from Liverpool. He's 32 years old and fit as a butchers dog. He knows LFC system and we have not been same team since his departure.

Why not get him back on short 12 month contract to help Klop and the team out while he still can still contribute?

He's a Brilliant player and loves LFC.

{Ed025's Note - i think you are over-egging him there Tel, he was a decent player who had as many bad games as good ones mate, well imo anyway..

I think Gini was massively unappreciated in his time at the club but 2023 and 32 year old Gini isn’t the same player as 2018-20 Gini.

Thanks for your time at the club but time moves on.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely JK..

Hasn’t played because he was injured and let be honest rubbish! He did mid do well for us but that was years ago sleeping dogs in all that.

“Gini has hardly kicked a ball for PSG last year” well considering he went on loan to Roma, fractured his tibia and then came back and played 12 times I’d think it’ll be difficult to play for a club you don’t play for for that season.

Really? This old chestnut again? Sounds like the sale desperate clamour for us to resign Coutinho just to get anyone in, even one who feigned a back injury to keep himself out of a game cos he hated it here and couldn’t get out of our club quick enough. Sad.

I was thinking in terms of LFC not being able to get key players in, and maybe consider Gini as a fall back option. Thanks for comments guys, I totally understand where your coming from ??.

What’s coutinho up to?

But didn’t Coutinho move to Barcelona for more money.

Which helps secure his family’s future. If it was good enough for Hendo why is Couts getting stick.

Oh yeah I forgot we just move the goal posts depending on the circumstances.

I can’t believe we’re even having this conversation. We’re one of the biggest clubs in the world and we are happy to call ourselves European Royalty for marketing purposes. We need a top class midfielder, and as the bare minimum we need to go out and buy one. We need to start being serious.

Couts faked injury and basically went on strike to leave. He left in his pomp, Hendo at the tail end of his career after 12 years with us and many as captain, lifted countless trophies.

How has Couts leaving us worked out for his career by the way?

Hendo going to SA is disappointing though given What he once stood for.

Haha, JK23, you're absolutely right! Moving the goalposts seems to be the favorite sport of some football fans!

Jk23 what nonsense are you spouting, I don’t even understand your point.

He is still getting stick because of the way he left us, ie his "bad back".

Jordan Henderson to my knowledge never refused to play for Liverpool.

What the FSG could do with right now though is another Countinho they could sell for similar money to fund the transfers Klopp desperately needs.

The story of Klopp's reign sadly will be : We could have had it so much better.

What happens when he leaves I shudder to think.

I think that Coutinho went primarily for what he saw as football / lifestyle reasons but it was clearly s mistake in hindsight with Messi taking up his favoured position.
He certainly damaged his Liverpool legacy.
Henderson has probably done likewise, for some Liverpool fans anyway.
I don't really have a problem with a professional footballer taking more money, just where it comes from.
Like a Lfc fan going to work for The S*n.

Henderson and Coutinho situations where nowhere near the same. Coutinho had spent 4-5 years with us, while Henderson had spent the majority of his career with the club (12 years) . Coutinho was at his peak when he went searching for money and glory. Henderson is clearly at the tail end of his career. He spent his peak with us.

They're both entitled to go for the money in my book. Or disregard the money too if they value other things more. Up to them. But it is incorrect and inaccurate to say the perception of observers and fans should be the same for both. They were not the same situations, and never will be.

The Wijnaldum chapter is well and truly closed. It should stay that way. In fact that entire book (that midfield of Henderson, Wijnaldum and Fabinho) has been well read and the book is now in the shelves along with other books of the past. We need new books with new chapters. ?.

Coutinho went for money and to one of the biggest most successful clubs in world football at the time.

I don’t condone him feigning injury and I never even mentioned anything about his back.

Hendo went at the spur of the moment whisky still club captain to a team none of us knew even existed 2 months prior.

But yes they are separate situations.

I’m glad Coutinho went because it allowed us to buy Vvd, Allison and Fan which massively helped us win the League and CL which Couts wouldn’t have done.

As the owners have shown without that sale then those players wouldn’t have come in and our 30 odd year wait would still be ongoing.

I wouldn't bank on Coutts returning.
It'd be a backward step too Far, age has caught up with him and we need to stop giving accounts as to why he was let go.

I didn't say that, fuser.
If the fans are questioning the Pride of the club and we have a Pep as a member of the coaching staff, Coutts mightn't want us anyway.

You know what’s funny? If the “expert” who started this farcical comparison actually read the words I used in my post, they would realise that this whole Hendo and Cou comparison was not even the point I was trying to make to begin with.

Cou left and fans were pining for years for us to resign him. Same with Gini and fans are still pining for us to resign him. THAT was my actual point of comparison.

But cos he was too busy trying to be a wise guy and look like the “expert” he wishes he was, he totally missed it. Hilarious, as usual.
