Is it possible for us and Chelsea to just agree at the start of the season to have 3 points each over the two games rather than bothering playing them and ending up with 2 each ?.

Probably won’t be a popular opinion but I thought we were good (and the better team) up until Chelsea equalised and then from that moment on they were the better team.

I missed the start of the game. Came in when Salah’s goal was disallowed. From then on I thought we were dreadful. Haven’t felt so unconfident at a start of a season since…. last year.

Everybody thinks that JK, inc the punters, managers, players.

We were definitely better until they scored JK. Beyond that they were comfortably better. Worrying how we couldn’t keep the ball at all. I hope some time in training and a dm addresses that.

Jesus the fans are feral. One game and poch is a better manager, he schooled Klopp, we were crap etc. not sure what poch did that was so amazing nor did he school anyone. We were good for the first 25
Mins, Chelsea got back in it and a draw was a fair result.

For all the stats and the shots etc they apparently had I don’t recall them almost scoring again had their offside that actually went in?

You can have all the possession and do bugger all with it. And only the FOURTH time in klopps LFC career this has happened. Think people need to get a grip.

Agree with that JK. I acctually thought the young ones coming on made us much more dangerous in the last 10 minutes. Harvey Elliot had a strong cameo at the end.

Spot on JK although I don’t think we were ‘dreadful’ like some have said. Thought we should’ve gone in ahead at the break but it was a soft goal to lose in a second phase from a corner. That’s not the first time it’s happened either.

That got the crowd up and we never really recovered.

I agree with Klopp that the defence went too deep which left a big gap in behind the midfield and they have the players to exploit it. We kind of play a semi high line sometimes which is neither here nor there and doesn’t squeeze the pitch enough to allow the midfielders to be close to people whilst still being high enough to allow the ball in behind.

We need to be a bit braver, if you are playing a high line to allow the press then stay high. Don’t drop off 5-10 yards every time we concede and you get a bit nervous.

Then I think we huffed and puffed but they just had too much space to pick passes and we got more and more nervous. Even in possession we became static and tentative and easy to break on.

I am buoyed by the first 35 minutes though I thought we were outstanding and it shows to me that once these players are more confident in the system we will be a real force. Dom and Macca look like they are bedding in nicely and both played well. Nunez nearly nicked it at the end too.

All in all an opening day away trip to Chelsea is very tough especially given their current situation and it’s probably only City that could go there confident of 3 points so I’ll take the point and the positives and move on.

A point at Chelsea in the opening game is a good result……. I was fairly pleased for the first game of the season…personally I love it that Salah doesn’t want to come off, more of that pls…. good debuts, great to see Diaz scoring, I though van dyke was good and both he and Salah very nearly scored…. doak and especially Elliot looked good…couple of additions I think we will be thereabouts come the end of the season.

Didn’t see the game but I knew it would be a draw cos well, it’s what we do whenever we play them regardless of the venue. They being said, a draw at one of your biggest rivals on the first day of the season is always be a good result regardless of performance so till I see the game, that is the biggest positive for now.

JK - absolutely, and probably not an opinion but a fact!

I think we have a mental hurdle to get over this season. A bit like in Klopp's first season and a half. How will we respond when we go behind? How will we respond when moments in games or the season start to feel like last season? do we have the resolve to get ourselves back to our principles and play our way out of trouble?

to me after they scored and then got the "second" the body language looked like last season. But what I like after it, even tho Chelsea dominated much of the ball, is that we didn't cave in and keep fighting for a result, securing a point.

But in the end, that was two average teams wasn't it. :D.
