Spot on with the match review Ed001 - esp the bit about elements of the old tactics coming back. Mo said something similar on Sly Sports after the game on Sunday.
Anyway, very early days and there will be bumps in the road, but I'm loving what Arnie is doing so far.
On another note, my lad is playing in a game tomorrow which is being used as a training exercise for PGMOL. Irresponsible parenting i know, but I've promised him a new pair of boots if he can volley one into Tierney's goolies ?.

years ago played in a game where a player on the other team kept catching our best player late. He refused our help in sorting him out but instead next time he got the ball, lingered on it long enough to lure him in and then belted the ball into the other guy's nuts. Said player had to be carried off and the other team left my team mate alone after that.

Phil LFC that sounds pretty tame to when I used to play Sunday league football 25 years ago. some of the tackles ( looking back ) was actually assault, but the players would either have a big scrap or play on . seen the refs just leave the pitch sometimes n not come back.

Some cracking games of that as a kid, some cracking brawls too depending who you played and what they did too haha.

After romario went back to Brasil he was doing very well even in his advanced years. During a match he was repeatedly fouled and complained to the ref each time and the ref was having none of it. Two of those tackles were two footed and from behind so he had every right to be angry.
Anyway around 60th minute this dude kicks romario in the balls with no attempt on the ball and he goes down. After he gets up he doesn't complain to the ref this time. This he pulls what I can only describe as a kung fu pose next to the offending player and just as the dude laughs romario spin kicks him in the face.
After the game romario was asked if getting sent off was worth it and his reply was "of course. If he plays against me next year there will be another red card and another. If the ref will allow violence against me I will conduct violence in return until players play the game properly"
