If the Konate news is correct and if he hasn't signed a new deal by end of July he needs to be sold.
Under no circumstances should be be allowed to dictate that he will leave for free like the other snake did this year.
If he doesn't like it tough, leave now or sign simple.
If he wants to dig in no problem play with the kids for a year Joe Gomez will play with honour when fit. Highly doubt in a World cup year he would want to not be playing 1st team football.

Although I agree with what you are saying, if konate wants to run his contract down he will. If he doesn't want to be sold then he can't be.
And unless we sign a ready to go starter at CB there is no way on earth konate will be left on the bench.

Indeed, Andy1. You can't make players do certain things anymore. It's a waste of time. If Konate wants to leave on a free then, get what you can get out of him this season and move on.

Faith . so what do you do . wave everyone off with a fanfare with a year left on their contracts n lose millions of ££££s or do we start being stronger by putting the players in a difficult position of not playing for us again etc to make the consequences of running down contracts . I know what camp im in.

We can and very much should be showing any player that the club is the boss not the other way round.
There are many clubs that do not allow this to happen and we have to be strong in our stance sign or be sold sit it out and don't play simple.
We can't be bullied by players into allowing a high value asset to leave for free.
There would be many takers for IK if we put him up for sale including PSG.
We then get players that want to be here and play for the shirt not just their next wage packet from their next fancy piece!

Oh I totally agree with you SSH, but unfortunately it's all about player power these days. And like Trent, if ibou has his heart set on real next season there ain't a lot a club can do about it. Like I said, we aren't leaving him out. Just out of interest can anyone remember a high profile player being left out of match day squads because they only had a year to run?
