I’m not a fan of Amy player airing our laundry in public but I completely get where Salah is coming from. Salah had the option of leaving in the summer and getting potentially a massive signing on bonus wherever he would go but was clearly sold a dream and an Idea with him playing a central part otherwise he would have left. Now we have Slot publicly dropping Salah for 3 consecutive games knowing full well the stir it would make! Before the game yesterday the media were already talking about Salah and his legs been gone etc so of course he is going to speak! Salah hasn’t been great but he is not been utilised correctly and we’re not playing to his/ our strengths.
Slot is fully to blame for where we are at, he has turned ‘world class players’ into nobodies. Players haven’t downed tools or lack fitness and all these other excuses I’ve heard, we are just set up terribly! Like him or not Carragher clocked it in the community shield and asked Slot directly about being run through and Slot smugly dismissed it, roll on 4 months and exactly what Carragher said has come to fruition. Let’s all pray for a swift sacking!
{Ed025's Note - so are you saying that even if he is not performing and has been terrible that his place should be guaranteed Dow-ney?, maybe they should offer him more money seeing as he lost out on a signing on fee mate...or we could start a go-fund-me page for him?..

I just think the general consensus is that Salah is being made the scape goat, how KONATE remains on the team sheet starting line up to me is baffling. Bar far the worst player in the starting 11 and refusing to sign a contract as he felt he would have his pick of teams at the end of it, there are a few others as well that really should be dropped. To make an example of Salah when he still has plenty to offer for me is the reason for the outburst.
Know one really knows what’s going on but I think it’s becoming more clear Slot has lost control and his arrogance is not benefitting him, he may seem to think Hughes backs him hence the power going to his head but eve blind arrogance can’t keep you safe forever.
I would be sad to see Salah go he’s been a great servant but of his time has come because his outburst then I for one don’t blame him speaking out, he probably feels he has nothing left to lose, and wants his reasons to be known. Reading his interview in full and digesting it, I feel this is nothing new and while he may come across as self entitled people need to remember he’s always had a selfish streak which is why he’s won so much and done so well. Every top sports star has a streak of selfishness in them.
Salah will always be a bonfied legend even if he’s being forced out, just such a waste of a talent to sign him for 2 years then 6 months later try force him out as being one of the “issues” when clearly it’s the tactics of the coach who is blind to criticism that’s making world class players look average overnight.
Hughes needs to grow some balls and man up and stop playing with the power he thinks he has too, he for me is allowing this mess to manifest, strong leadership is required but it appears we have rubber men in charge.

Don’t think I said anywhere that any players position should be guaranteed? My point is the player is coming out saying that promises have been made and I want to know what promises? He is also saying he is being thrown under the bus and that the manager no longer talks to him? This doesn’t sound like good management at all! My fear here is that we are/ were being slick in the summer and disingenuous with a player who has been loyal to the club and a modern legend.
In terms of performance Salah hasn’t been great but neither has Konate, Virg, Wirtz, Macca, Isak, Kerkez, Gakpo…. have any of these been dropped for 3 consecutive games and ironically at a time when Salah actually started to look the sharpest he has all season.

Ed025, I've asked my family to not buy me any presents this Xmas, but to donate what they would've spent, to Mo Salah and his family, at this difficult time.
{Ed025's Note - you are a good man Rome, charitastic donation there mate.. :)

I really didn’t like Salah comments about not needing to fight for his place… promises broken but that was based on actually performing! First time properly dropped and he wants to leave!
Now, he may look at gakpo but perhaps he defends more? can't back the player over the manger, sets terrible president. But Slots may well need to go aswell.

Could he have privately dropped him?

I just think it’s so unfortunate that Salah’s Liverpool career is ending this way, because he was a wonderful player for so many years.
But To paraphrase Ed002, all footballers are transient employees and We don’t know what’s gone on behind the scenes.
He probably does feel hard done by to a degree. Understandable maybe when there are a couple of other players selected week in, week out who have been shockingly poor.
What one of us hasn’t said something borne out of frustration in the heat of the moment.
I don’t think anybody is going to come out well from this. Salah, Hughes or Slot.
Before we sharpen the knives for him, just remember how good he was up until this season.
