Salah said there are people at the club who don’t want him there…
If that’s true, then this clearly isn’t just about him being benched.
If Hughes or Edwards are actually trying to create a situation where Salah gets scapegoated so they can push him toward a January exit and cover up their questionable summer recruitment, then that would be seriously out of order, brutally manipulative, and a massive sign of disrespect toward Salah.
I mean, Salah said just yesterday that he had a good relationship with Slot, and now suddenly he has no relationship with him at all? It feels like Slot has basically left him out to dry.
I genuinely hope FSG step in, because if this is what’s going on, then Hughes, Edwards, and Slot all need to go.

As brilliant as Mo is, he is also incredibly self focused.
The best thing he could have done is to bide his time and start scoring again. The real issue is that the team is just not set up for him anymore and he is at peak value, in the context of a 2 year contract.
The Saudi's will be creaming themselves that this opportunity has come early and will spend money on Ebay like the misses after the pub.

Are they scapegoating him? that's not what I’ve seen. On the contrary Slot said last week that Salah is going AFCON so we have to get used to playing without him but he still has a big part to play.
To me this scapegoating rubbish is in Salah’s head as he’s annoyed at being rightfully dropped. He’s just deflecting from the fact that he’s been a bit crap this season.

Salah started and played in the vast majority of games before he was benched 3 games ago. He has been pretty poor for the majority of these games. If it was any other player in such a poor run of form everyone would be asking for them to be benched. I love the man but he has had more than enough opportunities to prove himself this season and hasn't done so. If he'd have made more of a contribution in all the games he played prior to 3 games ago he would still be in the starting line up.
Its not slot who was making him play badly when he had the ball, that was down to himself so not sure how he can complain really. I think because people want Slot out they are happy to side with Salah despite Salahs poor form. Truth is beither Slot or Salah have been good enough this season.

It seems to me that Edwards and Hughes were probably reluctant to give Salah that record deal at his age. It went against the grain of what they usually do. They were probably desperately hoping he would continue his form of last season. For various reasons, the biggest being not receiving the service he used to get from Trent, that has not happened.
So a player on a record deal who is not producing is an embarrassment to them. So it wouldn't surprise me if there was an attempt to force Salah out, as it would cut the clubs losses on the deal. Having said that, Salah was out of order to drop a bomb like that on what looks to be his departure from the club.

Ed1 why now are they trying to oust Salah? They just gave him a new contract seems very odd?
{Ed001's Note - Slot doesn't want him as part of the team and he doesn't really fit well with the new signings. Plus he would provide extra funds to spend and reduce outgoings by a significant amount as our highest earner. It is just felt that the time is right before his value drops.}
