What's happening to our club? This is demoralising and I honestly believe all the really good work done during the Klopp era is being undone in the space of 6 months. In front of my eyes I'm watching us loose our Identity. The coaching staff are poor, the boss is not able to motivate the squad. Now the club is taking a huge risk with its frankly awful stance on playing staff. We mostly expected incoming to salvage our season. Those players are now at our rivals and happy to play in half empty stadiums. I understand the wage structure, what I can not ignor is the incompetence in leaving the Guehi attempted swoop until it was to late in the summer.
I also cannot accept that we can expect to get CL this season without defensive cover. These choices will set us back years. I also don't expect Alonso to be a shoe in! We are definitely not what lots of us on here seem to think we are. The outlook is grim. The match day crowd worried and quiet, the undercurrent behind the closed doors is worrying. I honestly fear where this is leading. Our fall needs to be arrested or we could be the Liverpool that was before Klop arrived. Please god I hope I'm wrong.

I'd get rid of Edwards, Hughes and Slot and be on our hands and knees and see if Klopp would come back. Pipe dream I know.

I think we just need to be patient. It feels to me that Slot was never intended to be a long term appointment. He only got a 3 year deal. He's left his roots in Holland. I think the objective this season is top 4. Anything else is a nice bonus.
Slot will likely go in the summer so splurging any more money may not be wise. Get top 4, have a proper pre-season, get existing players fit, bring in long term manager, re-set. In short, don't panic, things are not that bad.
