Ed001 did you get to watch the game yesterday?
Even with a 5-2 victory we still looked pretty poor.
I don't get the balance of the midfield why we look so weak because that was our midfield basically for the two previous season and we did not look so weak and open.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate I saw it, it was not a good performance but it was a good result.}

Ed001, it seems like we are just going to hope now we get another 8/9 this season. Even with the good results we have had this season, I can't remember any great performances.

Can you name a whole lot of great performances from the teams above us? They don't have many either. It's been that kind of season. Some team needs to figure out how to play good football and inject some life into this league again.

Not a stellar performance, but it was nice to see some more direct football, and an improvement on set pieces. I'm under no illusion, but I'm far more optimistic than I was a few weeks ago. That being said, the real test is yet to come.

The last 8 games will be very difficult. Luckily enough, nobody above us has an easy run-in. Hopefully these few results will instil enough confidence in the lads to go out there and do the business.

Poor showing. Sounds ungrateful after a 5-2 win, but the players still look like they don't know each other, lack of fitness is noticeable, along with not putting themselves about. Namely, MacAllistair.

Against a better team, we would have lost. I am not seeing any progress. Players are still performing under par, namely our senior team, which is a major concern. I am sensing a mauling at OT in a pivotal game for top 4.

I suggest you watch the Arsenal v Chelsea game or the Leeds v City game if you want to see poor performances.

Both Arsenal and City won, but my gosh, they were awful.

I'm not sure if it's just that the quality has levelled out, so the top teams don't dominate anymore, or if it's just because everyone's trying to play crap, set piece football, but the 2 teams at the top are as bad as I can ever remember.

Regardless, winning 5-2 at home is not to be sniffed at when the teams at the top of the table can barely muster a shot on target in open play every week. We are ultra critical of Liverpool, but nobody is playing great football here.

{Ed025's Note - its the way football is at the moment BP, Liverpool won the poorest premiership in history last season and this one will even give that a run for its money mate..

Grino75, regards the midfield, same players as last season, but the big difference is, Slot, in his wisdom, decided that Gravy should play further forward, and it seems to drop Macca deeper.

It clearly isn't working. Even Dom has been the deepest midfielder at times. A lot of people are calling out Macca. Klopp tried him in the 6; it didn't really work. Why has Slot changed it? Only he knows.
