I've had some lows on the pitch with this team. Some real lows. The whole time Hodgson was in charge for example. At least then there was a genuine reason, Hicks and Gillette had drained the club dry and all we could muster in the transfer market was Paul Koncheski. Then there was a time late in the season in 98/99. I was sat at Anfield as we were beaten by Leicester City, it was a midweek game as I recall. The same night United were in Italy I think playing an incredible Juve team and winning to get through to the CL semis or it could have been the final. I sat there thinking will we ever be any good again. That year we finished 7th, no trophies and miles of United who of course went on to won the treble. This, this is far, far, far worse.
This was totally avoidable. Sacking Slot in November was the answer. It's too late now. We are limping to the end of the season. I had hoped that as we didn't get beaten by 2 or 3 in Turkey last week we may have a shot at turning that tie around.
After what I've just seen I just don't see it. We may scrape through, but there seems to be little fight, little effort and the players are just meandering around. Slot wants them to play like this. He's setting this team up to play like this. He has them train to play like this. As if he's doing totally the opposite in training and this is the way they play then surely he would say so. This is so bad now. 500 million quid and we are far worse than last season. It's baffling why this is allowed to continue. This is the lowest I think I've ever felt in a purely footballing sense watching Liverpool. It's diabolical and no one in power at the club wants to do anything about it. They are just not bothered and seem happy that their man is there and seem to think he can turn it around.

I always felt sorry for Hodgson, as the only Liverpool manager without a pot to pee in, but the small amount of money he did have he spent really badly on Konchesky and Poulsen. It makes you think the club were lucky they didn't have more. Who knows. ?♂️ Anyway, I agree Kimu, we are crap mate. The fish rots from the head down. ?

As much as I agree with you about Slot, I still think the Hodgson era was worse. We could have got relegated that season.

I think what makes the feelings worse this time around is that the club has the power to change things, but are not doing it.
Sacking Slot at the turn of the year or end of last. Buying a CB who could compete with Konate/VVD in preseason or January at the latest.
Basic tweaks in formation and/or players, etc... all these things were soooo doable yet the club has failed at them and continues to fail at them.
I've personally gone from disappointed to being so angry! It's plain insanity at the club right now.

Irish Rover, I felt for Hodgson as well, we had an awful team and no money to spend, but I think what finished him was saying a draw with Stoke (I think) was a good result.
