If chelsea don't qualify for champ league this season I'm guessing they need to sell to balance books. I wonder would caicedo be available? We've obviously shown interest in past and if we had made our move earlier maybe he would've come to us. Excellent player imo and adds the edge+ aggression we so badly lacking
Like the links to fernandes from w ham although ed1 I think said he not great character but he only 21 and hopefully that sorts itself out as he looks v impressive on pitch anytime I've watched him.

Digger10 Caicedo has already rejected us once. Why would we ever go in for him again?

First, I am not saying he would be available or attainable.
But did he not reject us because we moved too late in the day, and he had already agreed everything with Chelsea? It was more being a man of his word and telling us sorry but too late?
I might be wrong, but that was my understanding.
Hence the nonsense of being a fake bid was banded about.

The cost of getting Caicedo out of Chelsea would be too much for us.
Don't expect more of these 100m+ signings. We have way too much work to do and will need to get creative in the market.

Man of Todd, while I agree it's unlikely, but didn't a certain Mo Salah reject us to go to Chelsea originally too? Didn't work out too badly for him 2nd time around. ?
Not that I think Caicedo is Mo Salah, but still, you get my point. ? Also very expensive, we need to find the next Caicedo who ideally won't cost 100+ mil.

Xabi Alonso rejected us too.

I think Man of Todd, Caicedo, had given his word to Chelsea, as they showed interest in him way before us, which was the reason he rejected LFC. Wouldn't hold that against him. Agree with other posters that ideally it's a new + cheaper Caicedo type we need, although they seem to be v thin on ground.
I reckon Caicedo in midfield for us would solve an awful lot of our problems.
