Hoeness does look good. He took over Stuttgart end of 22/23 keeping them up. Then took them to second place behind Alonso's Leverkusen. Following season was a bad one finishing 9th but he won the cup. This season he's currently 4th, 5 points behind 3rd. They haven't got the dough to spend and his net spend since he started there has been + £60m. Started off at Leipzig and Munich youth sides, so will have that German philosophy instilled a bit like Klopp.
He is currently using a 4231 like Klopp did at Dortmund with his main man being Stiller who is the traditional DM. I'd love us to bring him in and anchor our midfield.
Personally, for me my top choices for manager would be:-
Alonso- some say he's coming, some say he's not.
Iraola- family not settled so most likely going back to Spain.
Hoeness- as reported he's up for the job.

Stiller is the deep lying playmaker in the double pivot Keegan, but Atakan Karazor is the traditional defensive midfielder in the Stuttgart team.
He is excellent in the air, winning tackles and reading the game defensively, having also played as a centre half. He is also their captain.
This allows Stiller more freedom to do what he does really well and build up play from deeper.
Stiller would again be like our other midfielders and would need a proper out and out defensive midfielder alongside him to thrive properly in our midfield.

Honestly, who knows how a new manager will work out.
For me, and probably most of us here too, I just want to see the team working hard, pressing and playing good football again so they are actually competing in all competitions again.
That's how we started last season, then inexplicably moved away from that winning formula to whatever this is now - it is honestly frustrating to watch as a fan, the team essentially does the same ineffectual things each and every time, but when they actually play quick, they look good and score, but nope, the team always then reverts back to the same ineffectual stuff.

Yeah, agree 100% Bill. A LFC team shouldn't be out worked or outfought, not acceptable. If we outplayed by a better team, so be it.

You can only judge a manager's suitability if they've managed in the PL, otherwise it's always going to be a punt at best.

Indeed, Digger10. And I don't care who the manager is. If the team is getting out-all the things you just said, then all bets are off.
