Really hope we bring in Hoeness. Been watching his style of play and it really does suit our club and will get the best out of a lot of current players. Although saying that I do feel another overhaul is needed after a shocking season. Suprises me we are even in contention for Champions League places after the lack of quality we have shown. Think it just shows how bad the Premier League is in regards to quality and consistency this season.

Would love to see the following players come in. What’s everyone’s opinion on them: Kayode, Stiller, Lamin Camara, Gomes (Wolves) to toughen up the midfield, Diomande, Bazoumana to add much need pace on the wings. Have a great day everyone and have to say I love ready updates on this site. Gets me through work everyday. ?

There is an argument for the exact opposite. The standard across the league (bar a few teams) has raised to the point that mid table teams are no longer bankers. So the "big 6" are losing more points than they ordinarily would.

Wherever you finish in the table after 38 games is where you deserve to be without an asterisk.

That being said, football certainly feels less entertaining nowadays.

To start with, we need for Arteta's football to end the season empty handed.

After that, we need the referees to stop enabling all this cheating and time-wasting. Book people for grappling, faking head injuries and falling over at the slightest touch.

And finally, we need more coaches that are not petrified of losing the ball. The fear of losing the ball or being transitioned on is influencing the style of football we are seeing.

Well said, Fly. Haramball needs to be ironed out. New rules must be introduced and strictly enforced.

Kompany's post match interview was great the other night, when asked about a possible lack of defending quality, he instantly replied with "What do you want?..." and went on to state his piece.

It's nice to see somebody say it how it is for a change without looking for excuses.

I always find it strange because the argument is that the league has got more competitive over the years. And in memory looking back, it does appear that way.

But Fergie never got above 91 points in 13 title wins in a less competitive league whereas Klopp did 3 times and Pep multiple times in supposed more competitive surroundings.

The switch in competitiveness is since those crazy couple of years. The playing field has levelled and that's why no one is getting those silly totals again since that Pep/Klopp era.

You either think:

a) top teams worse and teams below better or

b) top teams same and below better

Below certainly haven't got worse, so either scenario equals a more competitive league overall in terms of taking points off each other.

But the titles are largely dominated by one team who have been the most consistent with result season after season.

Changing, I get what you're saying, but last season, if the players didn't wrap their t#ts in after the Spurs game, then we could have got 97 points.

If we had got them, would it have been a case that last season's league was less competitive than this season?

I just don't buy that teams setting up with low blocks to not lose games makes the league more competitive.

On your question, mate, I'd say top teams are worse.

Those City and Liverpool teams would tear this current and last season's league apart.

Pelican, you know what? There was a time when Arsenal fans used to lecture us about playing free flowing football being the ultimate objective, even when it won them nothing esp. under Wenger, as that is the hill they were willing to stand on business upon.

Now, they have foregone all of that "this is our legacy" crap and many of them (not all as a ton of them dislike this nonsense) have welcomed Arteta's Haramball with open arms and think as long as they win, it is fine.

Oh, how the goalposts have moved.

So I defo see your point (and Chewy's) hoping Arsenal win nothing.
