Quick question for Eds or anyone that knows.

What is the difference between deal agreed and deal agreed in principle?

I'm sure Fornax will come up with a great description. I'm sure they posted a steak-related analogy answer to this.

By adding "in principle," it means that journos can backtrack on the stuff that they make up or get wrong and still claim that they were right.

My understanding was in principle means everybody's happy with the deal and agreement is in place. The deal is only officially completed once the contracts and paperwork have been drafted and checked by lawyers and signed by all parties.

I may be way off the mark. I usually am tbh.

Thanks all. Looking forward to seeing him in red signing the papers.

Excited as think his pace will open up midfield space and help Wirtz.
