Isak Cuhna Wirtz Frimpong Agbadou Kerkez would be a great transfer window in my opinion. Thoughts?
Up the pool.
{Ed025's Note - cloud cuckoo land comes to mind Coul.. :)
19 May 2025 08:11:14
Isak, cunha and Wirtz alone would cost you £300 mill.
19 May 2025 08:30:52
More likely we get one from that list.
19 May 2025 08:49:19
Don’t be mean @25 ?.
{Ed025's Note - not mean...realistic WDW.. :)

I think we might see quite a bit of change but Isak probably won't leave Newcastle if they get CL footy. Wirtz is touch and go given the Bayern interest, and I think Simons will be our back up option.
If I had to guess, I reckon we could see any of the following 8 first team players leave and the most likely to replace them are:
Nunez -> Victor Osimhen
Jota -> Joao Pedro
Elliott -> Xavi Simons
Trent -> Jeremy Frimong ✅
Quansah -> Jorrel Hato
Konate -> Tomas Aruajo
Tsimikas -> Milos Kerkez
Kelleher -> Giorgi Mamardashvili ✅
I'm pretty sure not all will happen and I'm not ITK either, but these seem to be the most credible and realistic links right now. Pedro and Frimpong both count towards the HG quota and that could be critical in the decision making process if Trent, Elliott and Quansah do make way. It wouldn't even shock me if Lookman becomes first choice at CF for the HG reasoning. Hato's age also could be vital because he doesn't even have to be registered yet in the 25 man squad.
I'm now at the point where don't think we'll sign a CM/ DM anymore, because there just doesn't seem to be any believable noise about incomings or anyone sounding likely to leave other than Morton. We already have Bajcetic and McConnell who could replace him though. To be fair, I can't see it being a priority to sign a player who won't get many games because Mac Allister and Gravenberch are not problems remotely, and have arguably been two of our best players. I'm not entirely convinced Endo will leave either. Slot seems to like him as a late substitute at DM, RB and CB. He also likes Jones and regularly uses him at CM, AM or LW; sometimes even from the start. We know how much he values versatility and Jones and Endo offer that in spades. The player he's been reluctant to use in midfield or at all, is Elliott.
If Wirtz or Isak happens then we're in dreamland because you're talking about probably the best 9 in England and the best 10 in Germany. Both would be in the debate for a World XI. I don't want to get my hopes up yet for either of them, although they'd undeniably be better options than Osimhen or Simons.

Completely agree ed025 that’s why I said would be mate
Up the pool.
{Ed025's Note - after walking the league Coul i dont think you need a load of changes mate, 2 0r 3 of real quality would do nicely..
19 May 2025 10:34:47
MK, what about Jonathan David on a free?
19 May 2025 10:39:51
I think, based on the hive mind here, what we need is 19 new players.
Keepers, I know we have the big Georgian, we have Alisson, still have Kweev and Jaros, but I think we, if we are to be serious, need to go all in on Oblak and Courtois, if we get an injury to Alisson, Kweev, The Big Georgian, Jaros and Oblak we will need Courtois. It’s a long season.
Right back, we have a deal for Frimpong, great start, we have Bradley, Gomez if he stays fit, but I think we need to also go with Hakimi and maybe look at Alexander-Arnold from Real, he looks like he could to a decent job. Then to make doubly sure we need Kimmich and maybe look at Kyle Walker as well.
Now I will go into detail about the seven right sided centre backs we need. I know in the Champions league and in the league we have really good defensive numbers but I want us to sign loads of players so I’m either going to ignore it, say it was lucky or get rid of the players (mentally) who got us the league title in April and did so well - so first player we need is definitely a lab grown clone of a Baresi/ Hansen hybrid…….
19 May 2025 10:40:29
Definitely need more than that ed. Cb is an obvious issue as is central striker. 5 in and 5 out is my guess. If the club gets this window right we can become the best team in Europe.
{Ed025's Note - i dont think you are that far away from being that now Mark, too many in one go can be disruptive mate and as much as we all like shiny new toys i really dont see the need for radical changes myself..

Won league in April with only two defeats. Scored over 80, conceded second fewest - massive g/ d. CHECK
Got to a final - lost a few days after going out on penalties after 120 minutes to a wonderful PSG - CHECK
Played a load of kids in the FA Cup - CHECK
YOUR APPRAISAL - we need loads of new players - NO CHECK.

Why0why got out of bed on the wrong side this morning. :)
It's entirely possible that we did brilliantly this season AND Slot feels he needs his own players to fully implement his vision.
I think we all agree that no9 and LB has been a problem this season. That's 2 definite changes. Kerkez incoming soon.
The RB situation was forced on us - and they have made the move to solve that immediately with Frimpong. That's 3.
Ibou's future needs to be resolved one way or another. And the futures of Quansah and Gomez will also come into question. Given this, another CB is likely to come in. That's 4.
Endo and Morton were not trusted during the season. The midfield energy started to deplete around the time we played PSG and Newcastle. For that reason, I am sure we'll look to add a midfielder. That's 5.
Add to that our public interest in Florian Wirtz, that's potentially 6. The links to Xavi Simons, Rayan Cherki and Franco Mastantuono persist - which suggest an attacking midfielder is on the menu.
And finally, a decision on Lucho will need to be made. If he leaves, we will be back in the market for a wide man. That would be 7.
I know that sounds like a lot of change, but I don't think that diminishes the amazing achievement of securing no20 by the current squad. They will rightly be celebrated and celebrate with us on Sunday AND Monday. CHAMPIONS!
19 May 2025 11:59:11
I don't think we'll go for Jonathon David. He's not good enough in my opinion. Reminds me of Origi.
19 May 2025 13:21:09
Isak and Wirtz would be some coup though wouldn't it lol?
We look to have Frimpong almost over the line and contact reported with Bournemouth for Kerkez is reported so would be nice to get those 2 done early
The other priorities are ST and CB. We definitely need to improve upon Jota and Nunez, who both may be sold
CB is an interesting one - VVD and Konate have been solid but Gomez has not played a lot and Quansah does not seem to be rated too highly so an improvement could be made. The issue is if Konate wants to leave - we may need a starter instead of a back up
Midfield wise, we may see another in but I would then expect Endo or Elliott to leave.
19 May 2025 12:48:20
Yeah FlyPelicanFly I have done a 180 in the face of undeniable logic. If, as you suggest, everything that could go wrong does and if I accept that non-truths are true than you are right. We have had real problems all over the place, we really need to fix the issues at left back as our defence was awful given it was the best in the league stage in Europe and the second best in the league. This is clearly an area that we are struggling in. And with scoring, yes again we as an attacking unit did our score every other team but as Arteta and others said we did this because of witch craft and voodoo, so we can’t rely on such sources as magik always extracts a heavy price.
So again, if I agree with things that are factually not correct and choose to ignore the steller level we played at all season then we clearly need massive changes because the joy I now find in football is not what the team do, it’s who we buy and sell, that’s the real adrenaline rush, that’s the part to get a excited about.
Thanks FlyPelicanFly, you’ve both opened my eyes to the worst case scenario and closed my eyes to what actually happened.
Now in the real world.
We have no clue what the Ibou situation is so I don’t talk without evidence because that is simply gossip. Most people on here were utterly wrong about Virg and Mo.
I believe Nunez will leave, not a clue who will replace him.
I think Elliott may leave, not a clue who will replace him.
If we get Kerkez that will probably mean Tsimi leaves. We don’t need three left backs.
Midfield needs no work at all. Endo and Morton are trusted, they weren’t required as is evidenced by winning the league in April. There is a difference.
Chiesa will go because he is absolutely rubbish.
Check back in September.

Why0why - stay off the lunchtime beers, lad.
19 May 2025 13:27:11
@FlyPelicanFly, couldn't agree more. Those first three are high priority. It's not that the team/ squad haven't exceeded expectations and been brilliant but I think we probably need 5 changes this window.
If Darwin was performing anything like at the level I'd hope a top No. 9 to perform at the I think we really would have walked it this year. But other things have also worked in our favour. Salah and VVD stayed fit this year, Man City will be much better again next year, I expect Arsenal to be much improved again with more strength in depth and crucially for them a decent number 9.
If we just stand still I wouldn't rate our chance of winning the league next year. And @Ed25 the top 3 FPF mentions probably wouldn't be enough on their own.
{Ed025's Note - it would probably be determined by who goes out MCH..
19 May 2025 15:11:16
Well at least you’re not conflating rumours on the internet with the direction of travel for the club!
“The club have expressed interest in Cherki” no lad, the internet has.
How can you watch Liverpool operate in a similar vein year on year, window on window and keep saying, Welp - this year they’ll do something absolutely radically different after just walking the league.
Amazing logic.
