Even if Alonso doesn't come, I'd be more than happy with Hoeness if he gets the energy/fitness levels up and gets us playing more aggressively.
We're so much better on the eye and a more imposing threat when we play like that.

Hurts to say this cos I idolize Alonso, but I get this vibe that we are more into him than he's into us (that kind of a thing), and that sucks.
When Slot was first offered the job, he was willing to jump into whatever fire to get it, and that is where this club belongs.
The manner in which Alonso turned us down last time still hurts, and the attitude right now (admittedly, I know nothing of it) isn't encouraging, if true.
I think Seb Hoeness should be our target, imho.

Alonso played for us for 5 years.
Alonso played for Real Madrid for 5 years.
He actually made more appearances for Madrid.
He is Spanish.
Real Madrid seamlessly have an unlimited budget.

Alonso didn't choose Madrid over us. He wanted to stay at Leverkusen another season, as he had just won the league with them in the 23/24 season, so we went with Slot.
Then Ancelotti left Madrid at the end of the 24/25 season, so Alonso went to Madrid.
We had just won the league, so why would we have changed.
I don't see the "how dare he choose Madrid" narrative going on.

Nothing wrong with that. Most coaches will jump at the opportunity to coach Madrid. He didn't turn us down to join Man.United.
