Alvarez isn't moving to Liverpool nor any other team in England. He wants to go to Barcelona and that's pretty much it.
I'd have thought PSG would have made him their key target this summer, but nothing ever came of it.

He was the striker and player I wanted, when we were spending big last year. Just far move suited to how we had played. But hey, if he has no interest in moving, what can you do?

We all know Isak can excel in this league. Give him a chance. He spent most of last season unfit, and then injured. He is now in a team changing the style completely. Even some of the players who have been here years are struggling to adapt.
If Barcola and Minteh come in, the situation will improve drastically. More direct attacks and balls delivered quickly into the box. I can't believe the impatience of so many on this site.

Guirassy was the player I wanted instead of Isak. But I was told that he was "too old". He banged them in again last season.

It all seems a bit weird to me tbh. I don't get why we would sign a player who is most likely not going to be available until December, leaving us short of options for a couple of months when we need him to be available from the off.
I'm still of the belief we won't be signing him. If we do sign him, to me it shows how terrible those working on transfers are. Smacks of pure desperation, especially when there are better options available around that price.

If Arsenal sell both Nwanari and Martinelli this week, is there a chance they will approach PSG and gzump us for both Barcola and Mbaye? Is this PSG hoping for a price war at the eleventh hour, hence the delay in agreeing the deal with LFC?
If so, and if we want c these two players, we need to just pay up and them to AXA training ground and get ready to play ASAP.

There is more talk around that this afternoon, Clemence.
It may well be we're needing to offload Gakpo to part fund buys, and that's what's holding this up, but if we get gazumped, it wouldn't play out well.
Although quite a few supporters don't want Barcola (if it means we don't strengthen other positions), there would be kick back from some if we don't get him.

Liverpool are going to have to spend an atomic bomb if they want anything more than a top 4 scrap. What's the point in getting Iraola if you aren't going to give him players. We need 2 wingers, 2 midfielders, 2 full backs and another striker. You either get the players in and try to win, or don't bother and wonder why you don't win.

He doesn't add many goals to the team either, and for so much money, we should be looking for someone who can add goals.

If Minteh is the guy we want and we can get him, then go and get him. He's young and looks like an injury around his ankle. Not like it's an ACL, or an Achilles.
Who are the other players that are better and available for around the same price?
