FSG will be looking to sell over the entire club to the Bezos set up which I am concerned about.
There's a lot of change happening.
Maybe there's more going on behind the scenes, which is why there's little activity.

Yep, there'll be no more incomings. Arrangements are being put in place for a full takeover next summer, when the financial burdens of fees for new players are passed on to new owners...

You do realise that Bezos doesn't control the consortium that just acquired the 38% stake in the club?
I think the media are obsessing over Bezos because of his name, but in reality he is an investor in the consortium that acquired a minority stake in us.
He doesn't sit on the board of the consortium or our board.
He isn't looking to give up his day job to be the chairman of LFC. It's all going to be ok!

I don't think it's any secret that a lot has been happening behind the scenes for a while now - FSG decided against investing in a multi-club model, the Football CEO left, the Sporting Director has had one foot in Saudi since he arrived (with the other still planted at Sandbanks). Mike Gordon has had to step back into his old role to get us through this period, and we have 3 new board members to represent a consortia that has an option to take a majority stake.
On top of all of that, the sporting directorship voluntarily chose to drag the title winning squad into a multi-year transition.
Amit Bhatia's first job is to replace this not even half-arsed sporting director with one who actually wants to work for the club. The second job will be to complete the squad transition that started last summer.

Why are you concerned? The game sold out years ago since the inception of Sky, which I might add was owned by the biggest villain of them all. Embrace it, mate, as it's now a competition to determine which owner is the most sinister with the most baggage.
As George Carlin said: "It's a big club and you're not in it." One thing I will say is that it could be suggested that a ground extension or new ground is imperative, so opinions might change, as we footie fans are as fickle as they come.

'Financial burden...' checks notes, Ah, by financial burden you mean record revenue of over £700m with a 14.5% year on year increase. They must be fuming.

I preferred the candle chat.
26 Aug 2026 12:24:48
@ Ron Funk, Wow ...... Take a chill pill. Why get worked up over something that is beyond your control.
If they do take complete control of the club (circa £5b +) and there is no saying they will, do you think they would do anything to damage their investment?
It only has to be a positive for the future of the club.

No more incomings. Haha.
26 Aug 2026 12:49:56
Inbeta1989, just an update for you. The sandalwood candle has arrived, and I'm inhaling it as we speak. I swear I've never felt so good. I'm so away with the fairies, I want Nunez back.
26 Aug 2026 13:35:53
I am going to get you a Nunez shaped Bergamot and sage candle made for your living room. It can be the centre piece.

Brian, the "financial strain" of transfers has nothing to do with who owns the club or what's in their wallets. The club is an entirely separate entity; it's a business. It doesn't matter whether the club spends £200 or £200m. The financial strain is the club's alone, and relies entirely on the club's own revenue, not the backing of the owner, particularly for transfer fees.
What matters is how the owners run it.
Choosing not to make transfers does not put any more money in FSG's pocket. It also doesn't benefit the takeover, as shortcomings will lead to a lower valuation and a loss of potential profits for FSG. It is very much in the best interest of the club, the new owners, and FSG, to bring in the best players we can afford.

Think you might have lit the wrong candle Rome?
26 Aug 2026 14:05:31
Inbeta, you know me sooo well. I like the sage touch. Very personal.
26 Aug 2026 14:22:03
I'm so delirious, Klopp's new glasses, I've imagined we're buying Sarr from Palace. Good stuff this sandalwood.
26 Aug 2026 15:23:50
Don't get yourself in a funk, Ron. It's all gonna be ok.
26 Aug 2026 15:50:54
We all know you like sage, Rome! ? ? ? ?
26 Aug 2026 16:16:03
Gotta get me one of those candles as well then Rome, I'll envisage a mad two days of signing all the players we need which have secretly been in the pipe work all along turning the STC into the messiah. ?
