A win yesterday, but not a good one, we were bang average when it was 11 v 11. The side lacks identity and are easy to play through. I see little difference in our style of play from last season. I'm not convinced, we got lucky that their player was stupid enough to throw his head in. I'm desperate for wirtz to be the player we signed but as the weeks go on I just don't think it's going to happen.
You can throw all the stats you want at me but watching him play, he is not a 116 million superkid. I don't know how it will wash out but I don't see AI lasting two seasons unless things change.

What an absolute load of rubbish. He's inherited a squad that is weak in several key areas, which the club stupidly didn't address in the summer. It's going to take time to implement his desired style of play and we obviously need signings to speed this along. If you seriously can't see any improvement from last season, then you need to choose a different sport.

So we are lucky because their thug of a player headbutted Jaquet, but you chose to ignore that an accurate result yesterday would have been 4 or 5-1?! With 5 or so starters missing as well, I don't remember Alisson making a single 'difficult' save yesterday.

We were lucky. Wouldnt have won against 11.But we did win. Iraola is not the problem he will do well. Doing better than he should be.

I personally thought we were all over them for first 30 mins probs and then they got a foothold in the game, threatened without really creating anything. Went 1-0 up agains that run of play generally. Would have not had a great deal to complain about had one of those penalty shouts been given.
We also had a golden chance that Barcola missed, Barcola hit the bar, and we fluffed a chance towards the end on a counter attack.
Meanwhile other than their good headed goal, I don't recall Alisson ever really being tested?

How's Iraola "doing better than he should be? Just because your expectations appear to have been exceeded doesn't mean he's doing better than he should be. I'd bet that if you asked him he'd say we should be doing better.

People lack the ability to apply context these days. Liverpool have played twice since Brentford last played a game and Brentford have lost 3 home league games in a year. It's an exceptionally hard away game and people are disappointed we didn't see champagne football.

Maybe I'm wrong WDW. Was just looking at it from the viewpoint of having zero RB's, basically zero midfielders suited to played in a two, zero actual right wingers and on top of that Injuries to Ekitike, Isak, Gakpo and Dom in his first coupla months at the club.
From a squad that finished 5th last year. Maybe your right, maybe we should be flying high at the top of the league.

To the OP, are we even watching the same team? It's night and day compared to what we were last year, just because we aren't scoring 5 goals a game doesn't mean that the style of play isn't drastically different, this team is always trying to be positive and to move the ball forwards as quickly as they can, the pressing isn't as coordinated as we would like but you can see what they are trying to do when it comes off.
I don't feel like my team is going to concede with every counter attack anymore, the opposition need to create a very good chance and pull off a low percentage finish to get a goal because we aren't going to leave the door wide open for them anymore (and even if it is open Jacquet will probably close it again himself). We were bang average in the first half? I don't know if we were watching the same game, because I think we were overall the better team in the first half, we just didn't manage to go ahead.

The Egale n child sends Chivers down my spine. Seen 3 proper fights in there in less than 30 mins once. The for the grand finally an old women ( 60s) hit her husband in the head with a glass. Got up swearing and walked out.
He sat there finished his pint with blood dripping down his face. Then got up and walked out. The other punters didn't even seem to notice. I was only about 18 but remember it as clear as day.

There really is just no pleasing people. Our fans have become spoiled it's sad just support the team.
