Provided commentary were correct Cunha has a £63 million clause (just hope is right type of clause as those confuse me) and rumours of Saudi wanting Nunez - that would be my pick. Potentially Jonathan David on a free if jota could be moved on (love him but injuries are a bit too much) .

Then loan Danns so can get game time and tbh I’d probably move chiesa on as well.

Wirralean - my main worry wouldn’t actually be with Hughes himself (has in past shown the ability to uncover a gem ) more I don’t think financially we can compete for the absolutely top 1% of players. Aside from getting a player who can step up a level or two, the “bigger” names like Gyokeres, Retegui, Wirtz, Bastoni, or even N Williams (who I personally don’t rate) would have wage offers far above what I think they club would be willing to offer, and that’s IF they were open to moving.

Mean could get in perhaps more players on lower wages who potentially could improve or flourish in Slot’s system - but if did have to bring in say 3-5 if we can’t renew contracts would be a worry…. but I would have never predicted our season so far so wouldn’t be at all surprised if made us better.

Did a quick double check (as remember ed 2 mentioning it) - it is less the transfer fee more the salary that would be an issue. Is reportedly on €200k per week already and would presume would want at least that if not more. Added to that highest goal tally in a league season is 6 (has 1 so far) - so wouldn’t be my first choice!

Just remember googling after and believe a lot of athletics players have surprisingly high salaries as they spend little on buying players as all local.

Random thought was with being linked with marmoush who is a high scoring LW was that get a regular scoring rw to maybe trying to spread goal burden - as don’t just get players that rack up those goals Mo does…though would mean moving on of current Lw which not vying for but none get regular high numbers. Pure head cannon though and imagine miles off the mark.

Sorry to hear about your loss Stuie.

Presume that is something Everton organised and is a fantastic gesture by the club. Remember a couple months back Everton named or acknowledged in some way for their altruistic efforts. Hats off to them, shame tribalism in football as I’m with Ed and would have much rather a joint (massive) state of the art stadium that could also be used for events in the city.

Not seen what EFC finalised stadium looks like, but friend went to spurs stadium and is meant to be amazing. If united get go ahead and don’t cut corners their proposed 100k seater stadium could be envy of not just England but Europe - please don’t take as anything to denigrate your new stadium but think shared stadium could have been something to behold…. though as things stand would worry about safety.

{Ed025's Note - the ground is excellent MM...pity about the transport links, apparently the station at Sandhills is not fit for purpose mate and there have been a lot of complaints from those who attended the opening yesterday, the platform is too small and supporters were saying its dangerous especially on the way home, and there were only 10,000 there, imagine when 52,888 are in attendance?..its an accident waiting to happen and needs a major rethink..

It may be an ego thing but at the same time that is the way 99.99% of people think, just because they are paid absolutely obscene amounts of money doesn’t negate that. VVD is lauded as not only one of the best current CBs but a lot of pundits etc say he may be the best ever CB in the premier league. If he is on £200-220k a week, he is on considerably less than frankly average players (believe sterling and Sancho are on £300k) and is natural thinks is entitled to more.

In your industry / job if you were recognised as one of, if not the best at your role and others doing same job were being paid considerably more than you, I think you’d also want a pay rise. Not saying we should be starting a go fund me for him or feeling bad for them, but can easily see why they want to be paid more. Similarly if their current employer doesn’t think are worth that pay they are entitled not to and they can go elsewhere.

I like to keep it simple - more cups / games, more I get to watch LFC!

Only caveat I’d say is criteria for qualification or money grabs (club word cup for example) . Only changes I would like to see would be somehow splitting / tiering finances perhaps based on which league teams are in (eg if Premier vs non league, lower get more) and maybe stricter quota introduced for homegrown players helps develop youth (dunno maybe only like 6 non homegrown players in squad? ) .

For debate I struggle to understand a lot of Manchester United fans or pundits / journalist who follow a similar line of reasoning.

Firstly the Frankenstein or inherited squad excuse, David Moyes has taken over a squad of players, IMO of lesser quality than Uniteds, and instantly managed to install a style that works that has gained Everton fantastic results that has near enough guaranteed them safety (basically already accomplishing what he was hired to do) .

Can say players probably more suited to how he wants to play but would argue that difference in quality negates that, just look at what he is getting from Beto. Who in one game has out scored Rasmus’ PL tally.

Second the refusal to adapt his tactics as he needs to install in players his style, combine with willingness to write of season (eg it doesn’t matter if we get in Europe etc) and also saying majority of these players will be gone or need to go in summer. Firstly, if these players can’t play his system and are going to be moved on, then explain necessity for them to learn said system and how sacrificing European qualification is acceptable? Think any Europe is a bonus for players (mean can even just Chelsea it and play all youth if in conference), financially for club, increases chances of getting into UCL plus a final and fans as team is on tv more. Will also add when we got into Europe etc are thoroughly enjoyed group as saw youth players and those dortmund games were legendary!

Finally - Pep, Klopp, Anceloti etc allll adapt their system based on their squad! Pep didn’t have a recognised striker at city so changed his tactics and won the league, then got a top number 9 to win a treble (also has used 3 or 4 at the back) . Klopp at dortmund used Lewandowski as an out and striker then at LFC used Bobby to facilitate his WF, won trophies with both. Ancelotti last season changed style to accommodate Jude…. hope I am not proven wrong but really don’t see Amorim working at United esp if he persists how he is.

If all three stay; murillo, kerkez, mbuemo and baleba - if Salah were to leave maybe gyokeres but is a pipe dream.
