I note that Kyriakos Papadopoulous has re-emerged as a target. I rate him very highly and would be very happy to see him at Anfield next season. Is this likely or is it more regurgitated old news?

killingholme_clay

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it.}

1.) Ed, I remember last summer interest clubs were unwilling to pay the asking price for Papadopoulous. Would it be fair to say his injury problems over the last two seasons and lack of appearances has dropped his asking price considerably?

{Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in him so there would be no asking price.}

2.) Poor lad is injured again. I think he's spent most of this season in the treatment room

3.) He has just got himself injured again, for the 4th time in the past 2 years and has hardly played I think.

4.) Difficult to see us taking a chance with his price tag

5.) Agree with Solar - his pricetag wouldn't be cheap and the lad has had a nightmare with injuries. we'd do better trying to rehabilitate Kelly as he could, if he manages to recuperate himself sufficiently, play a part for us at centre back next season.

It looked like James Milner was in tears after the final whistle. Is he a definite out?

killingholme_clay

1.) 21 May 2017 19:17:13
Milner is unlikely to be a starter next season as we will sign a LB. Probably will move to one of the bottom half teams if he does not want to be sitting on the bench.

All said and done, he has been a moral professional for us. If he stays I will be more than happy.

2.) 21 May 2017 19:18:30
Get a proper LB and use Milner further up the field coming off the bench.

If he is happy with a squad role that is, because his experience will stand us in good stead next season.

3.) 21 May 2017 20:03:43
It would be a mistake not to at least keep Milner as a utility player, he is a top professional and he is a good footballer. He was one of the better left backs this season and it's nowhere near his natural position. I personally wouldn't mind seeing him on the right instead of clyne. We have to get rid of genuine deadwood in the summer, Milner is not deadwood.

4.) 21 May 2017 20:37:11
One of the bottom half teams? Behave, he's a damn good player.

{Ed025's Note - half decent squad player for me hopeful and is not getting any younger, been a good player in his day though..

5.) 21 May 2017 21:05:50
Someone like everton maybe lol 😅😅😅.

{Ed025's Note - we are trying to get rid of our dutch elm diamond...not import them mate.. :)

6.) 21 May 2017 23:52:25
I've seen him linked with Newcastle, which could just be lazy reporting. He'd be a good signing for them, mind.

7.) 22 May 2017 00:13:58
Milner will be right back next season.

8.) 21 May 2017 23:34:15
Milner at Right Back would be better than Clyne. Reliable delivery and shown he is a competent full back. Good man to have in the squad and he cares.

9.) 22 May 2017 11:00:47
I would shift Milner to RB if we can't get in a RB.

The latest cab off the rank is a Nuri Sahin return to Liverpool. Any legs on this or is it more mindless journos with nothing else to do?

killingholme_clay

1.) 06 Jun 2016 23:00:46
Why does every uday rumour need legs nowadays? Not like the old days when all a rumour needed was a mates David villas dog walkers hairdresser and they said he was on his way to anfield on the back of ian rates harley.

2.) 06 Jun 2016 23:32:27
Ha ha fencey about right mate.

13 Sep 2015 20:32:10
Skrtel & Lovren clearly aren't good together. I have never been convinced about Skrtel and am less so of Lovren. Sakho has been told he isn't wanted. Kolo Toure is over the hill. Ilori played exceptionally well in the recent U-21 championship but has been shipped off to Aston Villa.
We have a good right back in Clyne. Moreno, for all his potential(?) is now behind an 18 year old in the pecking order.
Can someone please explain the logic in our transfer policy?
These are insights into the blindingly obvious that I cannot quite believe that the current regime of so called professionals are unable to comprehend.
We need a manager who undertands football, backed by Carra and Gerrard.

killingholme_clay

1.) 13 Sep 2015 21:32:31
They need to stop farting around at the back.

Yes, they are to blame but they have no movement in front of them.

Please don't think I'm praising them in any shape or form, but the movement in front of our defence was as poor as I've seen from a Liverpool side.

2.) 13 Sep 2015 22:52:49
Just think we should play Gomez and sakho! Lovren and skrtel have had their chance, it's a young back line and can't get any worse

3.) 13 Sep 2015 23:27:46
Couldn't agree more Davey, I lost count of the number of times a defender was trying to find a forward outlet and all I could see were Man U shirts.

4.) 13 Sep 2015 23:33:56
Not even I could explain the logic in that ;)

5.) 14 Sep 2015 00:02:36
In order to explain the logic, we have to be able to see it to begin with. In this case, there is none to speak of.

6.) 14 Sep 2015 05:35:01
Agree with Davey

All people see Skrtel / lovren passing back to Migs. No one notice it's the lack of options in front of them they are forced to play back. You need a player like Carrick to receive it from your CB. When your CB has no movement ahead then you have the ball inside your own box.

The more you say this the more people abuse your opinion.

Sakho / Gomez ll be no different if you don't have a good midfield ahead.

Our problem is our midfield and not yet he defense.

The second goal is the perfect example . Carrick picked Herrerra just in front of our 6 yard box. I have no clue what was Milner and Lucas doing all night.

{Ed001's Note - Milner was aimlessly running round looking busy and Lucas was busy trying to fill in the holes he left.}

7.) 14 Sep 2015 06:31:52
Milner and Can did nothing in the first 4 games is a worrying signal for me. People easily criticize BR and his tactics.

That line up was the best we could ok Saturday.

Whatever the role was assigned to our midfield we were utter poor. They all are professional footballers and showed no sign of quality.

Couldn't keep hold of the ball for 10 secs.

Make no mistake I would love Allen / Rossitter in the team shows how poor our current Midfield is.

We need someone to keep the ball and we have no player with that quality.

Saw the Milan derby yesterday. Kondogbia and Melo were running the show in the midfield. How good was Medal. Should have swapped Lucas for Medal.

{Ed001's Note - should have added Medel years ago, not exchanged them.}

8.) 14 Sep 2015 08:50:11
You can play the best players you want but they play the way Rodgers wants them to play. If they are "farting around at the back", it's because that's what Rodgers wants. But, we will never hear a word of critique from Davey for The Fraud.

People blame Rodgers because it is his responsibility as the manger to make them look like a coherent unit Harry. I don't expect you to understand this though.

13 Sep 2015 20:16:31
Can somebody please explain to me why BR is intent on playing players completely out of position.
Does he really believe he's being really unpredictably ultra-clever or is he just a prat?

killingholme_clay

1.) 13 Sep 2015 21:45:28
To accommodate players who have been assured playing games and position, he is forced to play some players outside the position.
Moreover FA did not grant our club to field more than 11 players on the pitch.

2.) 14 Sep 2015 00:06:53
He's made promises he can't keep like he always does.

22 May 2014 20:07:05
Just a general question: Is there an aim for Liverpool to have major signings done and dusted before the start of the World Cup?
As the window doesn't open until 1st July which is slap bang in the middle of the competition perhaps patience is advisable.

Ed025's Note - "there are times when a cow stops producing milk though bobby and so they send him to the butchers"

Him? Milk? .!

{Ed025's Note - its an analogy that when something loses its usefulness then its time to end the love affair, the great eric cantona made a similar one in his "seagulls following the trawler"speech ...try and keep up mate.. :)

He is, in my opinion, a bloody good player.
I agree that it is unlikely that he will end up at Liverpool.
But if he does you will, eventually, rejoice.
Please stop these unnecessarily stupid and derogatory comments.

Ed001, which jounalists are worth listening to?
Maybe if we knew who's in the know (if any), you wouldn't get 300 repeat questions (just 294).

killingholme_clay

{Ed001's Note - it really depends on the circumstances. For instance Guillem Balague is very close to Rafa Benitez, so he is dependable if it is something directly related to him. Other than that he is no more reliable than anyone else. You really can not call anyone dependable, they are required to come up with X amount of stories, that means that sometimes they will be fillers or invention to keep up with the requirement. That is why we don't go down that route or go to a subscriber model, because then there is pressure to produce something, which can lead very easily to descending into conjecture just to keep subscribers happy.}

There has been no bid for Turan. There is apparently a release clause which I believe is €24 m but, as yet, there have only been 'enquiries' and 'conversations'.

For what it's worth Turan's assist/goal to game ratio is relatively disappointing. IMHO we would be better off spending a whole lot less bringing in the likes of Capel & Ilori.

It probably helps a bit if you have £93 Million sloshing around your bank account from Madrid buying Gareth Bale.
