Fabrizio Romano is saying we have a very real €40million interest in Renato Sanches.

This is very concerning to me!

I’d rather go without and give the minutes to Elliot and Jones.

If Sanches stays fit and has his head in the right place he will be an awesome player in a Klopp team as he has the enegy levels. Would have to end the chances of a lot of midfielders not getting a game if he's bought though as surely he will play alongside Fabinho and Thiago.

When we have so many midfield injuries that we do, the midfield isn’t stacked. We need a Gini replacement who was never ever injured. We are not going to be giving minutes to Woodburn or Clarkson going for the league title. He has been class last couple of seasons and would be a welcome addition.

Sanches doesn’t even have one trick Ed. He’s a tournament player, looks flashy in parts at a tournament but when asked to be a disciplined and effective player at club level it all falls apart as he’s not got the ability to play at the highest level. Was found out at Bayern and looked poor at Swansea, press are saying that Lille want the equivalent of £40m not €40m from us. If that’s the price quoted we should walk away. The man is made of crisps and hasn’t two footballing brain cells to rub together to make a spark.

Sanches at one point was extremely touted as a high ranking player. When Portugal won the Euros he was a bargain for Bayern at 40m they laid for him at the time. Can players change under the right manager and a understanding that his career is on the line, maybe. I would still say his showing at Swansea was concerning, trust in Klopp and Edwards, would gladly be wrong about a player proving doubters wrong at the club.

I would be very surprised if he signed, I guess that'd see Ox player 9 more often and maybe Elliot more in a front 3 than midfield. I trust Klopp and the guys to sign whoever they like though to be honest!

I really hope Barcelona sell some big earners and sign Sanchez. Ed025 said he was a one trick pony for me he just looks good in parts for Portugal in Tournaments because international football is so poor now due to the point that to make the euros and world cups longer there are to many teams in it.

Apart from the injuries, talent wise i think he's a very good footballer. Swansea wouldn't concern me at all, i know he was poor but i think he was younger than Curtis Jones (who we all cry patience for) is now at the time and was in a poor poor Swansea team.

The club and 99.9% of fans would prefer Saul or Bissouma to Sanches I'm certain. However the fee, payment terms, agent fees and wages for those 2 would be in line with being better players than Sanches. If the club and Klopp believe Sanches can be improved the fans should trust them as their record has been good (not perfect) .

I agree with Ed002 that the constant moaning is tiresome. VVVV HAS to comment on every post on Sanches and Keita about how they are such failures. You've made your point multiple times. No need to recycle the same every freaking day.

Perhaps controversial, but did we really need to buy Konate with our HG players doing so well. Could have use the non HG spot and nearly 50 Mil on a 1st team world class forward (Lauturo) or MF (Saul) instead. Just a thought ofcourse, in no position to judge Klopp and the club's decisions.

I don't feel you can look to much at his performances for Bayern which for me was too much too soon. Neither can you look at his time at Swansea as he was a player whose confidence was destroyed. If and a big if he plays to his potential he could be an absolute gem.

{Ed0666's Note - Salah and De Bruyne flopped on the big stage early in their careers also. I’m not impressed or bewitched by Sanchez but if he signs he will have my unwaivering support.

I’m a fan of Henderson and we need his leadership on the pitch but I think Sanches replaces him but maybe gradually ED2. I’m not sure a midfield of Fabinho Henderson and Sanches is balanced enough to attacking. What do you think?

Reading some of the posts above I just don't get why people rate saul so highly. Personally I don't think he makes us better.

Sanches is not my cup of tea however if they went on my transfer advice we wouldn't have signed a lot of the quality players currently at our disposal. I support the club whatever they do.

I enjoy reading that Sanches is a one trick pony. This is a 23 year old lad that’s won Portuguese title bundesliga twice and some how won the French league which is a one horse race. If only we were all so terrible. Also won the euros with Portugal. I’m not a big fan of Paul Pogba because he has the ability to be world class but his laziness gets in the way of him being so. However he’s won many things of other peoples merit imo. However I can’t imagine Sanches getting away with winning the French league last season with Lille by being not very good or lazy. I think he’d be an exciting addition to the squad. However I think we are over subscribed in centre mid.
