Hey Ed's just wondering how you see the club handling the midfield this summer much has been spoke about it but will Milner receive a 1 year contract extension as I really do see the value of keeping around the team I think he deserves it and will play games when called upon .

As for the rest
Ox and naby are gone
Do you see Liverpool seeking 1 or more players as their is some really good prospects at the club .

A loan for bajetic?
Morton to be loaned again
Bobby Clark what's the plan for him

I personally think 2 players is plenty and replace ox and nabys place in the squad with some of the kids as long as they are given minutes and it doesn't stunt their progression.

Also last thing it's probably nonsense but seen the club would entertain offers for Fabinho . I know he's not in great form and hasn't been for nearly 18 months now . How do you see that also

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what the plan is with James Milner but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will leave in the summer and is potentially available in January but would likely resist a move then. I expect Keita will leave but I am not sure that Liverpool have made their mind up about a new contract. Henterson and Tiago are now in their 30s, so there is plenty to do. Additionally, their may be new owners by the summer. I would think a loan may be possible for Bajetic and Morton could be added to the first team squad. I know Clark is well liked but I am not sure of any immediate plans for him.}

It does look like we'll need 3 midfielders in the next two windows. I hope we can do one in January, regardless of the ownership situation and the difficulty to buy top players in that window.

I also hope we revert back to the 433 with the high-line and press.

I fear too many changes too quick will hamper us as much as doing too little maybe 1 in jan and 1 in the summer would suit us best . Just my opinion.

Milner is 37 in January!
Henderson isn’t the player he was and him and Thiago spend a lot of time out.
Fabinho has been fire so far this season.

I’m not saying all of the above players need replacing bu the summer but will need to be replaced in the next couple of seasons.

We need 2 midfielders in January and then minimum 1 in summer, but arguably another 2.
We’ve got some serious surgery let’s hope we’re doing bits behind the scenes. At this point even mediocre midfield players will improve us a lot imo so 1/ 2 beasts will bring us very far.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool need to integrate players from the acadamy and add a couple - but players would also need to leave.

4 midfielders very likely to leave in the next 2 windows; Milner, Kieta, Ox, Melo.
Thiago, Hendo further into their 30s, Fabinho rapidly approaching 30.

There’s a distinct need for 2/ 3 midfielders in the 22-27 age range while we can see whether the like of Jones, Bajetic, Morton and others can step up.

That of course fails to mention the need to address other areas such as Matip and VVD moving further into their 30s, Adrian likely to leave and massive question mark around whether Kelleher wishes to remain on as a No2.
Firmino looks like he may sign a new deal (contract runs out this summer) and there’s a lack of options for the wide right attacking position beyond Salah.

There’s quite a lot to address in the short term and medium.

If somehow Liverpool get Jude i doubt other positions will get Strengthened that much the cost for Jude will be huge.

Fab Jude Elliot Thiago Henderson Jones Bajcetic will be fine that’s 7 players for 2-3 positions depending on positions. add milly in for a utility old head, maybe another loan for Morton, Cain

Ox, Keita sold on, Arthur loan not made permanent, then the follow year you look to replace one of the other older players.

Kloppers, Fab, Elliot, Thiago, Henderson, Jones and Bajcetic aren’t enough at the moment and there’s a lot of reaching going in that (a) the assumption that Bellingham is going sign and (b) that he’s a panacea to all of our ills in midfield, which he isn’t. Thiago is injury prone and the wrong side of 30, Henderson’s legs are going and he’s also the wrong side of 30, Jones doesn’t look like a centre midfielder whenever he plays and Elliott and Bajcetic are still just kids. We need at least two quality signings. We should start with Caicedo in January and then buy another in the summer.

For once I agree with V4 that 2 CMs are needed. 1 attacking and 1 defensive with the defensive CM able to play 6 and 8. If Jude signs only 1 more needed. Believe Milner will extend a further year.

You only bring in two you’ll find Henderson and Jones starting too regularly. id bring in 3 starters. Henderson Jones Elliott as cover. Thiago starter when fit but too unreliable to be one of the main 3.

There is not a chance that we are going to sign three midfield starters in the next window.

It’s possible we might sign one in January and perhaps another one in the summer.

I suspect if he has done enough to impress our coaching staff Morton will be in the first team squad for next season perhaps with Bajcetic (who might equally go out on loan to get game time and experience of playing week in / week out) .

I suspect that Melo might get his chance in the New Year to stake a claim for a permanent move too.

Melos return is uncertain, approx end of Jan start of Feb.
He’ll need several more weeks to get back up to match pace/ fitness.
In reality how much of an impact is really going to have on this season?
Very little I imagine.

He should really be sent back in Jan.

For me the dream would be Jude and then any one of Caicedo/ Rice/ Enzo Fernandez. Anything extra is a bonus.
