Hi Ed2; can I ask the reason we have no chance of Gvardiol?
As we obviously need a top class cab AND he’s a huge fan, now Bellingham is off - is there still just not enough money or is it something else?

If we are not involved or even interested in him Bellingham or Ivan Toney then I am seriously worried about where the club is going moving forward. We need to surround players like Trent with players of a similar level. He can not hold us together on his own and needs help. I think I am likely to be highly disappointed in the signings this summer. At least expectations won’t be too high I suppose.

Str8talker, respect that you clearly love the club and are passionate about it. I do have to query your point about Toney though. He's just been banned from all football activity for 8 months!

I also think we were right to move on from Bellingham. It doesn't make financial sense in my opinion given our need to rebuild and bring down the average age of the squad.

I'm sure we'll still have a decent summer and be better next season. Think positive mate!

Sr8talker, with the Toney logic we should probably put in bids for Rory Mcilroy, Rafa Nadal and hulk hogan.

Cheer up mate. It’s not your money that’s being spent, and if you have watched Liverpool for most of the season you will clearly see that Trent has not held the team together. For a large part of the season he was one of our worst performers. But we seem to forget that because he has been top class for the last 7 games. It was the 29 before that which were the problem.

Ed02, do we have any interest in Ian Rush? He retired 25 years ago, but seeing we are now interested in banned players and ineligible ones, we should start looking at retired players as well. Also, is the sporting director post still vacant. I was thinking of applying.

Why would we not be interested in a player who is still young and clearly talented who in all reality is only banned until January and when available can come in and be a major player? And anyway if you are all having a laugh and a joke the club already has a history of signing player who miss the first season in one way or another so go figure. I just like him that’s all there are not too many about let’s be honest and Darwin I have doubts will ever be the full polished striker a great asset yes but hit and miss will always be around with him. I have supported us for 36 years and have always moaned about certain incoming players most recently Jota who I had major doubts over but he has certainly surprised me with his contribution to the cause. So I would be quite happy to be proved wrong again, and just hope for our signings to help us move forward. Also on Gvardiol if we give Van Dijk next season and then bring him in would make sense, but nothing makes sense sometimes in football.
