The injuries to our midfield and our lack of game management in certain games will be our downfall I think. Chelsea have very winnable games coming up whereas we have some tough fixtures, West Ham will do us if we play that way away from home. I think this is where chelsea might create a gap, purely because we are suffering from injuries in that midfield, that only consists of Henderson as a dependable player for me. Fab is a huge miss, and no one knows when these players are expected to return. Salah and mane leaving for afcon in jan doesn’t bode well either, as there would be no one to save us from the poor defending atm. Bad day at the office, but our weaknesses are clear and it will be hard to fix due to the personnel available imo. I really hope I’m wrong, and we continue to push on.

Bad day at the office mate. But we move on and try get the win against A. Madrid on Wednesday.
Your completely right and We should’ve sorted all this in the summer but we gambled. We can’t do anything about it now we’ve got to cope with what we have and keep pushing. The key is not to give up around Jan like we did last year, keep fighting.

The afcon games mane and salah will miss will be a blow . But hopefully back up will want too prove a point .

With our midfield situation I’d actually say next Sunday’s game is more important than the Athletico one midweek. Don’t get me wrong I’d like to see us go full strength for both but if Klopp is going to use the squad I’d rather see us drop points in the CL than more in the league. Hopefully we get wins in both but will be tough.

hailstones, back up should have made a point today but it didn’t, if Fabinho isn’t available against Atletico in midweek I think we’re in for a very hard match, if Henderson/ Jones/ Ox struggle against Brighton, Atletico will make mincemeat of them. As for the AFCON, I’m not a religious man, but I’d pray for that to be cancelled, and I’d pray hard. Without Mane and Salah I fear we’ll be toothless up front. If they have to be with the squad two weeks before the tournament starts that will be a hammer blow to our season.

I agree vvvv, i honestly think a club the size of ours should have very useful back up especially with the competition we are facing and considering our injury record, i have moaned that much about bringing players in i can't be assed no more .

Not another transfer Moan but just an opinion. In a perfect world I would like to have seen us sell the likes of Origi, Ox, Mino, Phillips and Neco in the summer and use that money to have brought in a Bissouma and maybe 1 other.

I’m not slating the lads I mentioned but my opinion is I cannot see them contributing much if anything to the 2 main competitions we are in this season the Premier league and CL. Yes it’s great to compete in the League and Fa cup but the likes of Origi and Ox are on around 4.5 - 4.8 million each a year.

Of all the players I have mentioned I have absolutely nothing against and they’ve all had some fantastic or great moments for us especially Origi and last season Phillips. But looking at them individually

Origi - got a start in the Cl but he’s played 2 mins of league football this season and I can’t really see that changing. Last season I think his minutes added up to about 9 games.

Mino - He’s another who just can’t seem to get game time and has played 3 mins in the league. I just can’t see him jumping ahead of the front 4 at all.

Phillips - for me it was a mistake not to sell him in the summer when his stock was high. He was fantastic last season but the lad is 5th choice and whilst he doesn’t play his value will drop.

Neco - the lad is raw but we have Gomez who can cover right back and Milner has played there ahead of him this season.

Ox- For me I think ox needs a clean break. The lad fired in a lovely cross today for manes header but over the last 3 seasons he’s been paid around 12 million pounds by the club in wages. Daley that injury really halted what could have been a good career with us. Last season he was available for selection for almost 3 quarters of the season yet hardly played.

Keeping them all from the outside makes us look like we have a big squad. But scratch beneath the surface and I think we find that some In the squad just aren’t good enough.

Only my thoughts. Interested to hear others opinions.

Not Strengthening midfield was always going to be a problem, Klopp new this but his hands were tied it seems.

The disallowed goals hit confidence and raised Brighton’s. We can’t win every game. Their no push over. We’re unbeaten this season. Let’s go from here. Reality.

If klopp wanted players and he was refused or hands tied he should ov walked too make a statement, I would actually rather he did that than having to perform miracles every season.

Unbeaten means very little, points win prizes.

{Ed0666's Note - it’s a long season mate don’t start throwing the dummies out just yet

No dummies out mate it’s just facts. Draws in the main are points dropped.

13.) 30 Oct 2021
30 Oct 2021 22:53:40
Posters on here change their minds after every game. The truth is we need around 95 points to win the league and our midfield is short. Nothing has changed.

14.) 30 Oct 2021
30 Oct 2021 22:55:38
And how do we know he asked for players and his hands were tied or are we going to rehash this whole summer transfer window rubbish all over again? Give over, please ad it’s getting boring now. Summer window is gone and that’s that.

We did not play well today and that much is clear. We have injuries in midfield and apart from Elliott, they are all short term and our players will be back. All we have to do is stick together and weather this tiny storm and we will be fine and not start changing our tune and spitting our dummies out just cos we didn’t win a game.

This time last week we were world beaters.
Now we need a new midfield and we're doomed.
Like hormonal women.
Putting it into perspective, City lost 2-0 at home today against Palace.

Flash I think it’s just people reacting to today’s game. Last weeks game people reacted to that and then every game before it and so on.

It seems like people aren’t allowed an opinion on here unless it suits someone else’s agenda. People have difference of opinion in every walk of life. Rather than shoot people down why not debate it with your side.

For me I know that today’s game doesn’t and won’t decide the season. We’ll have plenty more games where we will be breathtaking and there will be games where we ride our luck or do not turn up.

Today’s result was not the end of the world but let’s not bury our heads in the sand and make out that we can’t be a little concerned. Last season we had very bad luck with our defensive injuries and this season it appears that it’s now happening to the midfield. And we all know that Salah and Mane are away in Jan for what could be best case 4 weeks worst case 8. Are we honestly expecting Origi and Mino who’ve had 5 mins combined in the league this season to fill that void.

Personally I’d rather see a front 3 of Jones, Bobby and Jota but again that’s nowhere near the same.

But I don’t pick the team and my comment on this group means absolutely nothing. It’s just an opinion like every other comment that goes on here.

Oli is stanch FSG if you look back on his summer comments. As for selling Philips as someone mentioned Konate should never of been bought because Philips would do a better job freeing up money towards a midfielder.

21.) 31 Oct 2021
31 Oct 2021 00:07:40
The thing is guys ox and jones couldn't control the midfield against preston, so its not surprising we lost that battle today. Luckily we drawn today 10 more mins and we were beat .

It’ll be fun on here when we actually lose a game won’t it?

Like I said before the match - we needed to play well to win as Brighton (or rather their manager ) aren’t pushovers.

We didn’t play as well as we can so we didn’t win. It means we need to improve but we know we can (we took Watford apart two weeks ago playing really good football, as a recent example) .

Injuries aren’t an excuse - the lads who played are good enough to do the job but they didn’t today. These things happen. Take the point, apply the lessons learned and move onto the next match.

Without re-opening the debate from the summer transfer window, the club made a choice n their priority for the summer and, all things considered, where we are in the league about a third of the way through the season would suggest their judgement wasn’t far off, although we would all like a limitless pot of money to buy whoever we want, when we want them.

Anyway, Fabs and Thiago back next Saturday and like the man said, ”When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide …. ”.

24.) 31 Oct 2021
31 Oct 2021 03:49:57
Everyone knew we wished to add an attacker and a midfielder in the summer but we had no money to add.

“the lads who played are good enough to do the job but they didn’t today. ”
The fact is they aren’t good enough and I bet you wouldn’t ever play Mr Ox in the middle.

We shall comfortably get a 3rd place finish.

Denter, the fact that you think that I am a staunch FSG supporter, says a lot more about you than it does about me or anyone else. When they screw up, I say it. When they do well, I say it. It’s called speaking truth to power. If you can’t understand nuance then again, that’s your problem.

So let me ask you this: if FSG had done what you wanted, would that have made us play better in the second half vs Brighton? So when was it FSG’s fault? Was it before we beat Watford, AM and Utd or when we drew vs Brighton? If that’s how far you can think then, have at it, bro.

Back to the game cos last I checked FSG don’t play the game on the pitch, we did not play well and the injuries in midfield are starting to tell. Even with that, we did not manage the game at all esp at 2 nil. That is what is killing us now and Klopp needs to sort it out and I think he has addressed it in his presser about not liking the body language of some players.

27.) 31 Oct 2021
31 Oct 2021 07:16:31
Like I said, we didn’t play well enough. If we had carried on from the 2-0 and scored the third we would have won. Brighton played well and stuck at it, fair play to them.

Just because we didn’t get three points means a player (or players) career is over.

JK, regarding your comments about selling the listed players, I do agree with most of it, however, I think we need to understand that it is likely the club did try to offload those plates but there just weren't any takers. I think it's clear the club tried selling Origi with the comments made recently, but maybe the club are pricing too high.

30.) 31 Oct 2021
31 Oct 2021 09:01:58
As soon as Liverpool drop a point or two the list of players that needs selling gets dragged out. Or it's FSG's fault.

However good a team we are, we simply aren't going to win every game we play. We will also win games we don't deserve to, welcome to football in the real world folks.
It sounds like reality might be a bit much for some on here.

Stuie I agree mate and I was just debating in hindsight like we all would have used to do in the good old days over a beer in a pub. I love reading all comments on here but in today’s society the keyboard allows others to think they have some kind of power and makes them a more special fan over others all because they dare to share a different opinion to them. And then there’s also the ones who believe they can tell people what they can and can’t discuss. Imagine coming onto a site and telling people they can’t talk about a transfer window as if they are special 🤦🏻‍♂️

What makes this site special for me is the difference of opinion and all opinions count for nothing on the grand scheme of things whether you comment 50 times a day or once a week.

32.) 31 Oct 2021
31 Oct 2021 10:01:47
There were takers for most Stui and JK. as per ED02. we priced them all out of a move. Edwards statue needs to be put on hold lol. Giving Philips a new deal, when we had an offer from Burnley, was terrible.
