Jay let's be honest here. We are the ONLY team in the league to give City a run for there money brother.

Who said City don’t want to win everything? I assume they wanted to win the League Cup too? Perhaps serial winners isn’t quite true.

City have won 3 league titles in 4 seasons that's how they've dominated the division. If some fans think here they will all of a sudden try focussing more in CL then that stats for u.

The only hope we've got this season they've struggled against teams who park the bus and Their form ain't that great. They've dropped 9 points in their last 9 games, let's hope we can win our games and continue to put the pressure.

That’s one way to feel better 😀😀😀. City shall focus on Europe 😂😂. What do you think we going to do different in 4 days that we shall beat them at wembley. For a starter I would drop hendo to the bench. What exactly does he bring to the team
I don’t know.

{Ed0666's Note - oh dear. Come on Harry his captaining and marshaling is worth his starting position alone. Listen he may very well be missing at wembley but don’t write him off yet mate. The man still has lots to offer.

Let’s be honest Ed. He adds nothing to this team at the moment. He gets in coz of sentiments. We were getting outplayed in the middle and saw no bottle form him yesterday.

{Ed001's Note - you are embarrassing yourself.}

Another way of looking at is that even at the start of last week people were telling those silly enough to listen that City are the greatest team on the planet and possibly the universe. We went to their place snd came from behind twice to draw with them. They have tried twice this season and not been able to beat us. They are very, very good but so are we.

Quiz question name the only English club in elite football in with a chance of winning 4 trophies.

In fairness City are serial winners but we are also serial winners. Looking at the amount of games both have won over the last 3-4 years then both are serial winners. Unfortunately for us City have far more trophies to show for it but unfortunately for them we have far more trophy variety.

I think as far as trophies go they are desperate to win the CL and we are desperate to win the Premier league again but this time in front of fans.

And the recriminations have begun already and the gale isn’t even 24 hours old yet. Pathetic stuff esp coming from the “City” fan.

OP, I’m not sure anyone thinks City isn’t trying to win everything. They gave a scenario where if City have the CL and PL to fight for, Pep could overthink things and get his fingers burnt cos there is undeniable evidence to show he has done that several times before. We played well enuff to not get beat and in another day, we actually win but in the end, NOTHING has changed. A Quad is STILL on the cards and that is all that matters, IMO.

I thought Hendo was particulary important today, especially in the periods after they scored both of their goals.
I just don't understand the criticism he gets. Look at him playing for England (I barely watch), he regularly becomes the captain Kane isn't.

Hendo was the only player to get a grip after that opening ten minutes and bring composure to the team after that headless chicken period of play where city scored one and Ali made a mega save from Sterling. Hendo showed exactly why he should be on the pitch.

Anyone who thinks Klopp picks a player based on sentiment needs his head testing.
Ask Adam Lallana about Klopp and sentiment.

I personally thought it was Thiago that got a grip of that midfield. But I suppose we all see different things when we watch the game.

Ed001 I partly agree with Transition Time that Hendo should not play against city most other teams his ok his legs are just not what they was.
I think we need to replace him as a starter for the big games am not sure there is anybody in the squad to replace him this season maybe Jones soon but am not sure his quite there yet.
I think if Milner goes in the summer Henderson will take over his role at the club as more a bit part player coming on later on in games to help see them out but compared to are title winning season when Henderson was are best and most important player Father Time has just caught up with I would love Rice to come in to replace him but his price is out of our reach unless he stays at West Ham one more year and goes into his last year when he would become more affordable.

we have also tried twice this season and failed to beat them. the table doens't lie people. But we have 7 games to turn that around.

Also what's this talk of City only focusing on CL? sounds like the mentality of people who aren't used to challenging on all fronts lol.

I thought Hendo was our best midfielder yesterday it was him that was chasing the press and him that was driving forward. Fab didn't have the best game and Thiago although pretty good could have been sent off. First half was a master class by City. but we stuck in and were the better at the beginning of the second half. One thing i will say though i thought Trent handled Foden well to the point he wasnt really in the game, a good result and we go again 7 games is a lot of games.

Hendo is essentially playing as a 4th forward. It's not about his legs being gone but rather his job is not the same this season and therefore he cannot contribute to tracking runners anymore. This is the risk-reward calculation we have made this season.

Hendo, Keita, Thiago, Elliott, Curtis and Ox have all played the right sided no8 position this season. Maybe the reality is that it is just a very difficult role to fill in this season's system?
