In that backline I think it’s criminal that we play a high line and have Matip at CB, like seriously the QE2 turns quicker! To be fair to Trent he plays a very difficult position in this team, play high and wide with no midfielder covering on his side and having Matip as his cover CB who doesn’t have the pace to get out to cover either; honestly it’s startling that fans look at Trent and think he suddenly became a bad defender! Sure there are times when he has been slow to track back but if you look at all he has to do I’m not surprised either. klopp has hung him out to dry with this system and team selection.
