Seriously quality footballer. One of the best england have ever had. Loved the guy and wish him the best. Hendo was a superb captain and leaves with everything he could possibly win. Any 1 that bashes him should go support another team.

I remember rival fans back in the day saying,

"Can you imagine the sight of Jordan Henderson lifting the Premier League and the Champions League trophies? That would be legendar. Hahaha. "

And then, they woke up and their nightmares came true. Haven't stopped laughing since.

J. Hendo. Captain. Legend.

Nobody (as far as I am aware) have questioned his contribution or importance to our success, or that he has been a great ambassador for our club. What people are rightfully pointing out is the hypocritical nature of being a figurehead for LBGTQ+ and anti-racism campaigns, then moving to a country with abhorrent policies related to both. It is so hypocritical and it really makes it seem like those sentiments were for marketing/ image purposes and not because of any sort of morality he had. I would feel let down if I was a part of any of those demographics and looked up to Henderson only to see him making this move. The ire is completely justified irrespective of his achievements for us.

@Magico, Hendo has been excellent at Liverpool but imho he isn’t one of the best that England have ever had.

For all we know he’s going to go to Saudi and wear Rainbow laces to drive change from within. Who knows? It isn’t really our concern or business. I support liverpool and he’s been a fantastic captain for the club I support. My involvement and opinions end there. Best steer clear of the politics.

Been done to death Seano. It is quite possible that’s he is both a fantastic captain and a hypocrite.

I’m more disappointed he’s chosen to leave one of the biggest clubs in world football to go and play for a club he probably didn’t know even existed 2 months ago.

All because of money and the fact his performances would have to merit his selection. And he chose this without even backing himself to put a marker in the sand in pre season.

He’s been a great captain for us and has won the lot.

After so long at the club he deserved to go out in front of a packed Anfield but he’s gone out with a whimper through no choice but his own.

I wish him all the best in the future and thank him for his past. I’d also advise him not to wear Rainbow laces in Saudi lol.

For me a Captain always goes down with the ship. But He chose to jump ship.

Unfortunately my season ticket membership group is paid for so I can’t support someone else so the club is stuck with me for another season.

Agent: "Jordan, there are people you don't know on the internet saying they're really disappointed in you".

Jordan, whilst riding a unicorn and wearing a solid gold cowboy hat: "Oh right".

Magico - Henderson is not one of the best footballers England have ever had, nor should criticism of him earn a response such as yours.
Henderson should be admired from all around - unlike the vast majority of people, he’s made the absolute most of his talent, forging a highly successful career despite numerous setbacks early on. Great.
However, it is long overdue that Henderson is on his way. His limited quality overall means he was never going to become a 35-year old master able to outplay most even into veteran years. I, for one, am made up to see him and Fabinho, two serious underperformers in recent years and neither deserving of a place in Liverpool’s squad, out and making way for fresh ideas, quality, and vigor.

Excellent Stuie. I wouldn't go to the extent JK23 has gone to, but your sentiments probably portray the situation most accurately.

And anyway. Why are more and more politics and personal matters being dragged into things when judging a football player? As a football fan I feel I am entitled to judge a player, but only on the field and how he performs there. What happens after "5pm" and off the field really is none of my business, unless it contravenes laws or is criminal in nature. If he supported LGBT rights that was "optional" and his choice; nobody forced him to do it. If he's "going for money" now, at the end of career, it's his choice; he knows what he's doing. If the two things don't match up, it's life.

Hendo is still 1 of the best England players and captains that are still playing. They got to euro final. more than what the rest have done since 66. he's a very able player. Maybe he wouldn't make the best 11 of say the Gerrard lampard and Scholes era but name better midfielders since then. And what did they win.

He does owe us nothing and If he was going to America, another PL club, Spain, Italy etc. I'd wish him well.

But he's still done a scummy thing by agreeing to go to Saudi Arabia and nothing will change my mind on that.
