My crystal ball is telling me we'll see a midfield of Mac Allister, Gravenberch and Szoboszlai as our future.

If everyone is fit to play Ed, who would be your 3 first choice midfielder? For me, Szobo and Macca would be the first two. The third one would be a bit trickier, its either Jones or Bajcetic for me.

{Ed001's Note - right now Jones and Szobo walk in as they have been our best mids. The question mark is over Mac Allister right now. Personally I would still like to see Trent given a run as DM.}

Jones has to be one of the first names on team sheet atm. Means we are shoe horning macca as a defensive mid which doesn’t really suit him imo. Nice to have options mind you.

Edd001 but macs being played out of position. He's a fantastic player. If we played bajetic for example, macca and sob start and Jones dropped.

Completely agree with you ED. I mentioned it in a recent post too. Jones and Szoboszlai are on fire this season and its almost as if our system is now working around their workrate. Jones is completely undroppable.

For me it wouldn't even be in my mind to put Gravenberch in there anywhere. I clash with Liverpool fans constantly on him. He has talent but we need develop him with cup games as we have been doing. His work rate needs improving and defensive work needs a lot more. I'm more than ok with him so far but friends of mine think he is knocking on the door of first team. For me he is miles off knocking on the door. One for the future I say.

I think the one that will end up shortly knock on the door is Bacjetic but I'm not for dropping Mac Allister. I want to see how this Mac Aillister DM project works out. There are signs he is putting some stuff together. And he has magic in him that I would want on the pitch. That Nunez assist was a special one. I'm definitely sticking with what we have for a while yet.

Perhaps in last 20 minutes of some game test the waters of a Bacjetic, Jones, Szoboszlai midfield but I'd keep Mac Allister on the pitch. Definitely for a while.

Not drop Jones, but rotation is the name of the game. Gives him and Mac games, but also some rest. And don't forget Grav as well, because he comes into the equation.

If we are playing twice a week theirs enough games for everyone to get a game and doing a great job of the wholesale changes game to game I really think it’s doing the team wonders to be fair .
The players all know their getting a game and a chance to get in to the 1st 11 I think klopp knows his 1st 11 but knowing his 2nd 11 are actually quite decent as a team aswell .

It’s finally great that we are debating our 1st 11 especially in midfield. Theirs a real buzz and camaraderie growing within the team and fan base aboutbb BC this team it makes me think we are close to challenging again with another addition or 2 as we have a great young core group all of a sudden

I’m loving watching us again.

So impressed with the midfield and Jones proving his doubters wrong. Elliot has also impressed when coming on and Iv also been impressed with Grav’s ability on the ball in his appearances. Dom speaks for himself. Very surprised there’s talk of Thiago getting a new contract because I don’t see how he gets back into this team unless at DM.
Early days and I hope he proves me wrong after I defended him to the hilt recently but Endo looks off the pace for the English game. Let’s hope he adjusts but he’s not looked good so far IMO.

{Ed025's Note - new club, new surroundings and a new country Westwood, i think you should give the guy a chance mate, not everyone makes an initial impact like dom has and i suspect he may turn out better than you think..

Agreed, Davey. Jones and Szobo are killing it right now. They are undroppable and they should play and keep playing until their form dips. Gravenberch and the others will have to bide their time and take their chances to impress when called upon.

Oh I agree ed025. As I say I defended him in exactly the same way you just have to me very recently to others on here to give him a chance. I certainly hope he can adapt but he needs to learn to play the ball quicker or he’ll keep getting caught out. I have no doubt he has the attitude to adapt and if he does I think we’ll have a very useful player there.

{Ed025's Note - i dont see him as an outstanding player Westwood but i think he can become a very useful squad player, which is what you will need when fatigue and injury come in to play later on in the season mate, its going to be a long hard season imo and as they say at Tesco..."every little helps".. :)

Westwood666 going by the Leicester cup game, I wouldn't agree with you on Endo. I really think there's a player in there. I love how he keeps it simple and ticking. He is also not afraid to put in the tackle when necessary. If he continues that way then we have got ourselves a bargain.
