Morning Ed.
Over the course of this season numerous times me and my son have discussed the three and the contract situation.
Something that got me was, why we didn't hear about a single club trying to sign Salah or VVD on pre contracts as I'm sure every club in the world want them. It was a point I made in conversation that no-one had or at least we wasn't aware if any interest. Was a case of no-one did because it was always they was going to sign or clubs did and the media was quiet on it?
{Ed001's Note - clubs sounded all three out. It is just that Madrid have no respect for others and use the media to try and cause issues. I have no idea with regard to Virgil what he said, but I would assume it was similar to Salah, who said he was looking to extend his deal here and would talk to others only if no deal could be done with Liverpool.}

Nice to know there is some loyalty left in the game.
I’m sure someone will comment on Salah earlier in his years touting Madrid and Barcelona for a move but he’s with us
Still hold up hope that Trent will stay.

Gazza why would you make Trent captain, out of interest? He doesn’t come across as captain material to me. I don’t see him as one who leads vocally, or by example. I don’t think he’d even be vice captain if he wasn’t Scouse.
I’m one of his biggest fans on here and always defend his abilities (particularly defensively) . But even I can’t come up with a good case for him to be captain.

I think mk the big reason to give trent the captaincy would be to push his game on futher. The big fault I have to trents game is he lacks aggression and sometimes his body language poor. With captaincy would come the responsibility of setting the tone and having games like the man utd 1 at home just wouldn't be acceptable and he would know that.
I think it would lift his game to new heights.

I think people put more emphasis on a captains armband than there really should be. Would Virgil be any less of a player or less vocal if he didn’t have the armband? Would it make Becker more vocal? Being Scouse and a long time at the club is equally enough for me.

really good points from both MK and Digger, but for me, Trent was never going to be our Captain, no leadership at all, and way too many poor games, poor moments, I didn't like his game against United, every LFC fan that I knew was very frustrated with him and wated hi m dropped, as it is Conor Bradley is our right back now .
Thanks Trent, you gave us so many great years, but now its time for us all to move on .

ED001.Read today that Madrid are after Saliba but will wait until it's cut price or free. if you was Arsenal. Would you sell now because Madrid usually get what they want, once they set their sights on someone , better to get a good fee than nothing .

@Strom, it only works for Madrid because the players want it Mbappe, TAA, maybe Saliba.
