It is obvious that we have had poor performances in most games till now. But I also think we need to give the team more time to gel together. The changes that this team has gone though are huge, and it can't be stressed enough. For the past almost 10 years, we have an attack biased down the right where our two best attacking players played, and the team was built around enabling them. Right now, we are trying to do a complete change, with the focus now more on the left side with Ekitike Wirtz Gakpo. It would take some time for the team to get used to it. And it is also a challenge for Slot, as he now needs to show that he can build a new attack. It's no wonder our best moments in both the previous matches have come when we have foucsed our attack down the right with Szob against Arsenal, and after Bradley came on today. The transition to a different system will not happen overnight. The bonus is that we have somehow kept on winning in the meantime.

I’d argue that our attack has been based down the right for 10 years mate.
The Bobby, mane and Salah combo was incredible all over the pitch and Gakpo finished our second top scorer last season on the left with Diaz getting plenty also on the left of through the middle.
I do get what you’re saying though about the team taking time to gel but for me it’s almost looks likes we’re in 1st gear. Kit man probably doesn’t even need to wash today’s jerseys.
That was a pretty tough watch today but as you’ve said the main thing is we are winning.
Athletico and Everton are going to bring the intensity and sh#t housery.

I get what you are saying JK23, but I meant that the progression from deep primarily happened from the right. Right now, we are trying to lean more towards the left. And obviously Trent was one of the best deep lying playmakers, so there would be a struggle to replace him. Its only when we inject intensity from RB that we start to look good. But over time, the understanding to get Wirtz involved more in good position should improve.

At the moment we look like a team that hasn’t played together very often, which is what we might reasonably expect given it is what we are at the moment. That said, we have four wins and twelve points so, in that respect, we can’t do much better.
Today’s game was a match to forget - Burnley tried desperately hard not lo lose rather than show any desire to try and win, which is a sad way to play but understandable, and whilst we struggled for cohesion it has to be said that we were trying to score when we got the penalty in the 94th minute From the point of view of ‘keeping at it’ there are really positives signs.
I’m not enjoying the quality of our games at the moment but I do like the effort. I think it’s only a matter of time before they gel and we take somebody to pieces. Ideally that would be next Saturday in a perfect world …….
