Flashes of what we could be last match. A promising improvement. Just need to sustain it now and get Isaks up and running. Downside is we had to rely on players we are phasing out.
Szoboszlai goes from strength to strength. He and Chiesa are proving to be our most consistent players so far this season.
But it's onwards and upwards from here.

The only consistent thing with Chiesa is that his appearances are inconsistent.

Hard to say Chiesa has been consistent given his limited playing time. Not against giving him more playing time however.
What players are we "phasing out" RL? If you're referring to Salah he has two more years. The average age of players in our squad is less than 26.

@Lenin, I don't think the game was a flash of what we could be. IMO, it is a flash/ reminder of what we were last season under Slot cos 9 out of the regular starters from last season (bar Ekitike and Marmadasvili) started vs Villa.
What we can be this season? I have no idea cos it is still too early to tell and most importantly, we need results more than anything right now, IMO.
As for the players we are trying to phase out getting us the win, sometimes you have to go two steps backwards in order to jump higher. Or go a step forward.

We cannot say WE'RE BACK from dispensing a tactically poor Villa side at home that has scored the second lowest amount in the league. IT has to be followed up with good performances against Madrid and City where this exact same sequence rendered three victories last year.

The Villa game was a much better showing overall! It dipped here and there but speed, aggression and a better overall attacking attitude made it feel much better. It's a start and Madrid will fancy themselves tonite
