Just a guick one Ed,
The consensus online in forums seems to be that Chiesa is far too injury prone to be starting games and this is the reason we only see him get limited time.
Do you believe this to be true? Or have heard anything to back this?
I would like to see him get a run of games on the right while Salah is at afcon personally.

{Ed001's Note - I have not heard that, I can see why people are suggesting it, but he is not playing simply because he doesn't play the way Slot wants him to play.}

The issue there is, Snoots, Salah hasn't been playing on the right recently, in fact he hasn't been playing. So, like Ed says, I can't see where Chiesa figures.

Chiesa was a 'clever' punt by Hughes - low risk with a high ceiling.
That one game Vs plymouth seems to have tainted him forever in Slots eyes.

I get the impression Slot doesn't play Chiesa because he didn't want him in the first place. A point being made to his boss.
Same goes for Endo and Rio not being used.

Isn’t Rio 17? Perhaps Slot wants him to mature physically and mentally before he becomes a regular.

Rio's a kid, doubt there's any other kid in the country his age that's got the minutes he's got this year. Especially at such a big club.

I agree Rio is a kid but the club said they didn't want to sign a Lucho replacement to block his pathway.
And if he's considered too young, he's not playing for any of the other teams. So he's basically not getting any game time at all right now - even with Cody Gakpo out.
So which is it?

Where did this come from, exactly? The guy has been fully fit all season.

I agree Olired. He gets me out of my seat. He always makes somthing happen. Wish he had more game time.

Maybe Chiesa has stayed fit because he hasn't been starting games.
And maybe Rio is still on the pathway without seeing much action recently.

Rio still has some growing to do. Rushing kids often backfires - Gordon, Ramsey (I’ve wanted to put their names together for ages), Baj, Bradley, Danns just off the top of my head. Being 17 and a regular in the match day squad will be providing him with loads of valuable lessons and insights (if he wants to learn) .
