Hi Eds,
It is really frustrating and disappointing to see Gomez injured again. It has been the story of his Liverpool career. Gets injured just when he starts playing well. Can you shed some light on why he gets these injuries and if he is not doing much to stay fit?
Thanks,
{Ed001's Note - a lot of the problem, by the looks of it, are down to his natural build - he is built lime a sprinter, carrying a lot of bulk, which puts stress on muscle groups. It doesn't help that he is not playing regularly, all that in and out and off the bench leaves you lacking sharpness and can put extra stress on muscles, especially if he is not quite properly warmed up when coming on as a sub.
It doesn't help that he went away with England who then ignored advice from us and caused his worst injury.}

I've heard that he has to have knee injections before every match. Is this true Ed?
{Ed001's Note - I am not sure, he did for a while but not sure if that was a permanent thing.}

So unfortunate he is so injury prone as i've no doubt he would've been a 1st choice player for us for the last decade.

He had an injection in his knee in the last few weeks.

That England injury annoyed me so much. Not only did they ignore our advice but Southgate came out and acted like a know it all by after that injury happened and admitted that he knew Gomez was in the red zone but selected and played him anyway. That was pure negligence on his part.

Another factor for Slot to be managing this season.
It can be easy from the outside, but imagine the juggling act Slot has to do with things out his control go against him.

He was never the same again after that England injury where we told them JG was in the red zone and that they should press with him. Really sad.
Btw, no wonder when Southgate announced the injury, he immediately said the injury was not based on any physical contact at all. I have always wondered why he would clarify that from the off. Now I know that statement was for LFC med. dept., not for the public.
