Hello ed1 hope u well. Now that ali has signed for a futher year do u expect mamar to be moved on? I would presume ali didn't extend for another year unless he was told he be still no.1.i can't see mamar staying another season as no.2. With jaros getting serious injury I don't think he be available for long time so that would leave us looking for a keeper.
I've seen links to lens goalkeeper, I not sure if anything in that.
I know u don't rate mamar from when we originally signed him, I wouldn't mind him getting rattle at it personally but I haven't seen an awful lot of him. when he has played this season in general he hasn't been great but then who has.
{Ed001's Note - he was bought to make a profit on, but not sure there is a profit to be made, so we might be stuck with him. I just don't see a keeper anywhere near good enough in him. He has yet to even produce a half decent performance for us.}

Ed001 hopefully he has a good World Cup and we get a bit of World Cup fever and we can move him on then.
One good thing in our favour Ed is he might not be great but then you see clubs like Chelsea spurs and Newcastle and they all have pretty awful Keepers.
{Ed001's Note - quality of players in general around the world has dipped to an all-time low imo.}

Thanks for the response. Couldn't see us making a profit either. I think we bought him for £30m, if I remember correctly. Although, as Grino says, a good World Cup for him, u never know.

Why do you think the quality has dropped Ed? Too much over coaching and players are losing ability to think for there selves?
Feels like a trend round the world tbh. In my industry the first thing we have to teach the new kids is how to think for them selves since they're so used to chat GPTing everything. Or maybe I am getting old ?
{Ed001's Note - all of that and less kids playing outside, too much time staring at screens.}

I agree Ed001. Athletes instead of Ability. And when you think of international football stereotypes, those have disappeared. No Brazilian Skill, no Italian art of defending, no English passion, no Spanish flair etc
Over-coached Robots. Media doesn't help

PlayStation, the killer of modern football.

Florian, I'd say social media and YouTube, mate.

There was a good video I watched about Brazilian football on YouTube about how all the flair of it came from the favelas and street football, but once Brazilian players started going to Europe, that flair was coached out of them, and young players were, during academy setups, taught to stop it.
The video went on to say this is why the Brazil team has been a shadow of attractive football for about 15 years now.

The next academy investment includes futsal pitches, apparently.
