Why do the Spirit of Shankly guys choose now to stage a protest?

What absolute BS of a timing and not reading the situation. The team is down, the bloody captain is begging for some form of support, and acknowledges team is at its most fragile moment and it's practically the biggest game of the season in 2 days and you decide to protest against ticket prices now next week at Anfield?

I agree prices are way to high and we have to care for ourselves and front this corporate greed and let our concerns known but to announce it now is a bit like not caring at all for the club.

Cud have waited out the PSG result and then gone all in.

Now the manager and players will get another excuse.

It feels like a distraction when they should be protesting as much about the poor leadership at the club and lack of entertainment and value. If they lumped the things together, cost and lack of leadership and value, it would make more sense right now.

You're having a pop at a group, who are doing all they can to protest against rising ticket prices. All the other stuff you mention will take care of itself. Ticket prices will still go up unless people take a stance.

Maybe those fans who engage with them are mainly concerned with tickets, so fair enough if they want to focus on that. I thought we'd generally not been putting our prices up every year despite high inflation and wage costs going up. Players' wages are a big issue when average players are wanting and getting over £100k per week. It's a problem.

When do you want them to do it? In a month's time, when the season's over, there's nobody at the stadium and people have forgotten about the price hikes? Obviously, the best time for them to do it is now. You really think a few placards over ticket pricing is going to bother anybody on the pitch? There's far bigger issues at hand.

See, if Hughes/Edwards weren't handing out bumper pay deals to average players, then maybe they wouldn't have to think about raising the prices. That said, who wants to pay more to watch that s****?

07 Apr 2026 13:42:58
I can't remember a season where ticket prices went down regardless of whether we signed players, handed out new contracts or sold players.

It says online prices have been frozen for 8 out of the last 10 seasons. If that's true, I don't think it's unreasonable to increase by inflation for a couple of seasons.

07 Apr 2026 18:22:44
It also says online that politicians have people's best interests at heart.

Since 2016 my tickets have only increased twice. ?

Overkill, what difference do you pay to go to games in the last 10 years?

07 Apr 2026 20:28:40
I tend to go a few times a season, using my friend's season tickets when he can't go. Relative to other entertainment prices, and given our status as a club, it's not too bad.

So, has it only been two seasons in 10 years that the price has been different?
