LFC potential manager options should Arne Slot leave, which depends on final league position at this moment.

- Xabi Alonso: Clear frontrunner. Perfect stylistic fit — high-pressing, possession-dominant football with tactical flexibility. Knows the club inside out as a former player and wants the job.

- Sebastian Hoeness: Highly rated. Young, dynamic, and data-driven. Builds intense, attacking teams with strong organisation.

His Stuttgart success shows he can develop players and overachieve.

- Julian Nagelsmann: Elite-level coach. Innovative tactician with excellent man-management. Brings modern, flexible systems and has Premier League-level ambition.

- Andoni Iraola: In-form Premier League performer. Organised, high-pressing style with attacking full-backs. Proven ability to improve players and get results on a budget.

Yeah, you lost me at calling Nagelsmann elite.

Racey

I think for me we have to get a manager who has proven top level experience and has won trophies, who plays the same sort of football we saw with Jurgen

I know Ed has a different perspective but for me it's Nagelsmann with Xabi a close runner

Agree with everything except Nagelsmann. He's very overrated and the opposite of excellent man-management, in my opinion... He can be toxic.

I'd be ok with any of the other 3 mentioned. Alonso, I'm not convinced he'll want to come if we still have Hughes and Edwards in their positions.

He might want more assurance on him having greater authority on transfers. That's just my assumption, not ITK.

Don Carlo may be available if, as seems likely, Brazil fail to win the World Cup. Not sure that he is the right man to bring out the best in the current team, nor that he has the drive that maybe he had, ten years ago, when he appeared to be in the frame, with Jurgen, to take over.

He is, however, one of the greatest managers ever and is a proven winner.

Iraola for me.

Alonso now, Hoeness after him in 10 years time.

Chat GPT summary much?

Nagelsmann won't be available until late summer at most. Plus he's a bit of a knobhead.

Iraola, I'm not convinced by. It's a big step up managing a mid table club with no expectations to one of the greatest clubs in world football, and very few have successfully made that jump.

Xabi knows the club, the fans, he's built a league title winning side from nothing and but for the fact that Madrid is a cesspit of the worst cretins, he'd have been a success there. He's the best candidate available and it's not really very close.

I'd be ok with any one of those four managers tbh.

Slot, anyone!!!
