I can only look in envy at PSG and their coach. What a great manager.
Total respect to the man. He knows what he wants and he knows what he’s doing. Would be an absolute dream at Liverpool. I think he brings unity again.
Not saying Liverpool could pull it off but if you want to be serious, for me, that’s the one I would want.

They are great to watch and their manager is doing a great job, but, as seems to be the case these days, they were assembled with the financial backing of (Arabic) state funding.

Enrique is the one I want as well. He's by far the most experienced and prestigious one available that's been even remotely linked with us. And I would not be surprised if we got him at the end of the season, despite everyone telling me it's not happening.

WDW, just out of curiosity. Is it just the Arab owners that annoy you or do you feel the same way about the Americans, Chinese and Greeks that own EPL teams? (PS. 62% of the EPL teams have significant foreign ownership - thank you Google).

One thing's for sure, Enrique doesn't swan off back to Spain 4 days a week.

Are all your posts about Slot in some direct or oblique way, Kopcat?
Enrique is an absolutely incredible coach for sure, but he's also rather old as far as top coaches go. Isn't he the same age as Pep? I do wonder how long he'd be able to hack the 24/7 stress of being a prem manager at an elite club.

Fair point, Wdw, however, Liverpool have buying power themselves. I'm sure he could improve us a lot, and I'm sure he would be backed.
I read something today as well online suggesting Edwards' role may no longer be needed as their multi club model has been abandoned. Unsure on that one.

Luis Enrique is 55. He's hardly Roy Haversham Hodgson.

David Beckham: "I spoke to the president, Nasser, at PSG. He said in the first year of Luis Enrique, he virtually slept every night at the training facility, working on how he wants the team to look, how he wants the team to play, and who he wants.
The president says he's never seen anything like it."

PSG are very impressive, but have you seen how many minutes their first team have played in Ligue 1 this year? Most of them are around the 50% mark. That must be a big advantage coming into the latter stages of the Champions League, being super fresh.

There is a programme saying how PSG got their money from very dubious means, the World Cup vote n a lot of planes worth billions bought off the French n, hey presto PSG are super cash rich.

Enrique is the bike you want for Christmas but you know it's not happening, so move on.

@ArAy, it's not a specific national thing, it's more a case of massive multi-national corporations and politically motivated state funded financial institutions who use people and things (like sport) as a means to an end, be it sportswashing or leverage into new markets etc.
I really dislike football, golf, cricket, rugby union etc being turned from sport into pawns in business games for economic and political games with absolutely no regard for supporters of the game and the future well being of sports.
