I think this comment from Slot is being misinterpreted "I think they are then underestimating what a window can do, what a new start can do". I think he is not talking about the players he hopes will join, but is talking about those who are leaving. He obviously has beef with Salah and Jones and others.
He thinks getting rid of their toxic influence (from his point of view) gives him a chance to reset. This, plus the unexpected level of injuries is what he is peddling to FSG in an effort to keep his job. Half the team that started against Villa won't be at Anfield next season.

That's an interesting take, Jojo65. I hope you're wrong. His position should be untenable, but it sounds like Edward's is doing everything he can to justify his existence.

He has a big problem with Salah but I don't believe Salah is even close to our biggest problem. We haven't won any of the nine Premier League games that Salah hasn't started in 2026 to date, taking six points out of a possible 27.
We've won just one out of 12 matches, in all competitions, beating Barnsley in the FA Cup third round.
However, we've won 12 of the 17 games that Salah has started in that time, going to show that there are far bigger issues than him at the club.

He's gone. The fans have turned, the players have turned, and the results are as dodgy as they were over a year ago under his realm. He has shown zero ability or willingness to amend tactics or training methods in order to implement lasting results. He has a blame game attitude towards everyone but himself. We have won zero trophies this year, despite the financial investment, and whether or not we qualify for Champions League is coming down to the final game of the season, where we must win.
There is even an outside chance we could finish 7th, that's how bad it is. If the owners do not pull the plug on this fraudster, along with egocentric narcissists above him, then the anger will be turned towards them, the value of the club will plummet, and we will be finishing up in the lower half of the table next season. A change has to be made, as this scenario has been allowed to become a complete abortion.

Weren't many of the so called ITK's saying that Slot would prefer a move back home to be closer to family, regardless of us wanting to keep him? That changed as well, did it?
