The more I think about it, the more I wouldn't mind the club taking a punt on Andoni Iraola as our new manager. The guy is a coach's coach and plays high-intensity, pressing, attacking football.

He's a great coach. Would definitely be in my top 5 picks. Unfortunately, he looks nailed on for Crystal Palace going by the latest rumours and betting odds!

Just seen a scenario where, if we lose and Bournemouth win by a certain amount, we could end up in a head to head playoff to see what club gets 5th.
You could also argue whoever wins the tie gets to manage Liverpool next season as well. ?

@MK, Hopefully the club already has someone else lined up because if we allow both Alonso and Iraola to go elsewhere, I seriously don't understand what the club is playing at.
And no disrespect to Crystal Palace, but if it came down to choosing between us and them, I'm convinced Iraola would choose us.
Let's wait and see what the club has planned.

Alonso1786, the rumours are that Iraola's wife wants to live in London. I don't know if you are married? I am, and I wanted to live in Northamptonshire. My wife, though, wanted to live in Buckinghamshire. So we compromised and now we live in Buckinghamshire. Happy wife, happy life!
On a side note, I hope we get Hoeness or Enrique.
Enrique as the short term success option, and Hoeness as the long term project option. I'd also be happy with Conte, Xavi or Iraola though. Not long to go now until things become clearer. Barring a crazy last day, we've got Champions League football at least!

It appears family and London have played their part in his decision, but if Palace win the Conference League then he will have Europa League football.
My worry for him is the recruitment structure at Bournemouth compared to Palace. Can't see it going well for him with Parish at the helm.

Having said that, they're Basque like Arteta, I am sure they speak Basque at home, but want the kids to pick up Spanish too.
