If it's true, it's a complete dereliction of duty from all involved. I don't think FSG realise just how lucky we were to get Klopp when we did, or just how bad things could get if we have to replace Slot mid-season and nobody's available.
Again, the timing of these reports points towards club-driven manipulation of the media, as it has done multiple times during this run in. All we can do is hope that's what it is.
23 May 2026 10:13:50
Not the club driven manipulation causing real life heartache.
23 May 2026 10:18:41
You don't think FSG have considered replacing Slot if they have to next midseason, Chewy?
I reckon they will have. And I reckon they will have considered replacing him before next season.
Also, why will there be no managers available next midseason?
Are you predicting that Slot will need to be replaced next midseason and that no one will be available?
23 May 2026 10:31:03
Slot needed to be replaced in November, and there was nobody available. Who do you think is going to be available mid next season, Rigsby?
23 May 2026 10:33:18
I think the problem with trying to replace a manager mid-season is that it only happens when things are going wrong.
If we are looking for a manager mid-season, that would imply we are already out of the title race.
Might be wrong, but in the PL era has a manager ever come in mid-season and won it?
23 May 2026 11:19:39
Rigsby, the bigger question is why are they even contemplating keeping a relentless failure in charge knowing full well that they will prolly/defo sack him midseason esp. if you agree that getting your actual target manager midseason would be very difficult even if managers are always available midseason, hence leading to another season being written off due to pathetic incompetence and planning?
Frankly, imo, this is abject nonsense. So essentially, FSG is gonna keep a guy that is failing beyond belief, only to later sack him in midseason when the damage is already in overdrive (starting from this season), with a possibility of not getting the manager you want in midseason.
Is this what these bozo's want us to swallow? I mean, they could just sack the guy, get a clean break and restart at zero next season, but are deliberately choosing not to do that? Nah, ain't having it.
Cos, trust me, if the above was happening at any other club, top 6 Spurs not names Spurs, we would all be laughing our arsses off and talking down to them on what they should do as in, keep the current system in place as that would lead to further damage hence, comedy material for us.
Maybe you can explain, cos I don't get it, and I'm not gonna support the club doing the things that I would laugh at other clubs for doing.
23 May 2026 11:26:58
Best fans in the world.
Choosing to support a successful super club thousands of miles away.
Now saying you won't support them because they're no longer successful.
But only City, Chelsea and Utd have plastic glory supporting fans.
23 May 2026 11:56:43
I know, JK23. Some fans haven't been to support them since the Spurs game. Like you say, plastic.
23 May 2026 12:04:34
Don't have to go to games to still support them, Darwin.
Dry your eyes, mate.
23 May 2026 12:24:58
Chewy and Oli, the simple answer is: I don't know.
I'm just an ordinary, devilishly handsome, working bloke. I don't know the inner workings of the football club and I know even less about why they work the way they do.
I do know that if I thought Slot should have been sacked last November that it would have zero effect on the inner workings of the club.
I don't know whether Slot will need sacking next midseason or if anyone will be available or not.
You seem to have more of an idea than I do, Chewy. I'll just watch games on telly (my match going days are long gone) and maybe think about it then. I'm no good at making predictions and I don't like playing the hindsight card either.
If we're rubbish again, Slot gets sacked and there's no one available, I'll come on here and say you were right. It would also show that you and others have not changed anything; dereliction of duties or not.
23 May 2026 12:31:47
JK23, OliRed said, "He's not going to support the club doing things..." which means he does not support the actions the club is taking; it does not mean he won't support the team. You can support your team and, at the same time, not support the club's (execs') decisions, the managers' tactics, or the coaches' training.
Supporting your team is not inherently affected by a difference in opinion on the politics or policies within the club.
23 May 2026 12:32:19
Going tomorrow though, Darwin, to say goodbye to at least 2 legends in Mo and Robbo, and sadly even maybe the last time I see Ali (another legend), Macca, Konate & Jones in a red shirt.
I'll be in the Anfield Road end.
Hope you enjoy the game, mate.
23 May 2026 12:41:48
Chewy, cheers for the reply, mate.
I'm not going off that comment. I'm going off a number of comments.
One in particular being not watching Liverpool v City in an FA Cup semi because "not watching that crap as I have better things to do with my time."
But, as you said, it's all opinions. I'm just giving mine.
23 May 2026 12:55:07
'Choosing to support a successful super club thousands of miles away'.
'Don't have to go to games to still support them'.
Something stones something something glasshouses.
23 May 2026 13:05:43
It's a blessing and a curse to be all beauty no brains Rigsby. Beating the women off with a stick only to try and eat it afterwards. Somebody's got to do it though, fair play to you.
23 May 2026 13:24:17
Darwin, you have to leave off the rest of my comment to try and fight your argument ??♂️.
I bet you're great fun at games.
Catch up for a pint tomorrow?
23 May 2026 14:04:16
That debate veered off topic, didn't it, Chewy?
It went from the club's dereliction of duty to my looks. I said handsome, not beautiful, anyway.
I'm more rugged than a pretty boy. It must be all that stick eating.
So, you remember that, and I'll remember your predictions for next season.
Deal?
23 May 2026 14:07:01
Cmon, JK23, half your posts are calling out people on their inconsistencies. Dry your eyes, mate.
23 May 2026 14:16:31
Have a good one, Darwin. ?
23 May 2026 14:57:39
It sure did Rigsby, not quite sure how; you must have caught a glimpse of yourself and got sidetracked. Understandable. Looksmaxing is tough work. Keep it up mate.
23 May 2026 18:22:24
I got sidetracked, and you veered off topic?
Yeah, that makes sense, Chew.
