Sneaky suspicion the Champions League final holds the key.
PSG win, Enrique announces he’s leaving, Slot does the same.
Then Liverpool announce Enrique as new manager.
No possible way can the higher ups carry on as we are.

It's not so much the Champions League, it's June 1st, it's an official "end of season".
I don't think Enrique is a realistic target, but I think it all points to Iraola.

I believe he's gone if they can get their no1 target. I think the only way he stays is if Enrique has given us the nod for next year. I'll gladly suffer another season if Enrique is coming. He has said he would like to coach us before, and recently he said he was planning to retire by 60.

Ron, I initially thought Iraola or Hoeness, but unless we throw our hat in now with Iraola, then he's taking the Leverkusen job.
To me, Enrique is the dream signing.
The fact we let Alonso go to Chelsea tells me we have other plans.

I believe that pinning our hopes that something might hapoeb rage season after next is only going to lead to massive anxiety and probably, ultimately, great sadness.
Does anybody have the slightest bit of genuine evidence that the urban legend growing around the possibility of Enrique ever managing Liverpool?
It's good to dream but it's worth bearing in mind that not all our dreams come true and it seems that the growing expectation of Enrique arriving at some point might just be someone's dream.

Not that I think LE is realistic. I think him for the City job is most likely a non starter. I feel right now, with the impending charges, not many managers would want to be at the helm when they get their sentence (if there is one).
I feel that's why they might end up with Maresca, he already has City connections and has already had issues with a board before at Chelsea, so a good fall guy when they want to let the s*** hit the fan.

If u mean Iraola, and we have spoke to his reps, there is no way imo that he would even consider Leverkusen.
I believe he was holding out for us.
Palace have courted him, Milan too.
He's holding out for somebody.

In my opinion, Squeeze, an agent is going to pit 2 parties against each other even if the client is only interested in one.
Firstly, to jack up the negotiation, and secondly, to speed up the club to act.
I agree with you, he wouldn't consider Leverkusen, but his agent wouldn't let the press know that.

Fatwallet, I never said we were getting Enrique. What I'm saying is that I'm so convinced of Slot leaving that the only way he stays is if Enrique gives us the nod for next year. I can't see any other reason they would keep him on.
I'm also pointing out that although he's expressed interest previously, his announcement that he'll be retiring in 4 years makes that dream practically impossible. I've maintained my belief that FSG will eventually pull the trigger on Slot.

Totally agree, Ron, also someone looking for work can't throw all their eggs in one basket.
One thing for sure, if Slot is going it has to be in the next 7 days and any prospective new managers have to have been spoken to.
We are LFC and any manager should be honoured by our interest.
