Hi Ed I know you have said repeatedly that Iraola has/wants no input into recruitment. I just wonder though what the process is, will he sit with Hughes and tell how the portfolio of players he wants and the areas he thinks need improving and then let Hughes get on it. Or will Hughes literally just have free rein?
{Ed001's Note - Iraola will sit down and discuss with them what he needs and wants from players, yes. The recruitment dept will want to get an idea of the kind of players that are best suited to his style of play. Then it will be up to them to pinpoint potential targets for Hughes and Edwards to sign. They will be operating under oversight though, Gordon had to step in because of the mess they made, he is not going to just step away and let them create more problems.}

It's very good news if Gordon stays involved. A lot of the good things that have happened in the last decade (Klopp era, stands, new training grounds etc) have been under his stewardship. Clearly, he makes good decisions. If the 2 jokers are given free reign, they'll ruin things further.

That's good to hear Ed.
Not sure Gordon knows anything tactically etc,
At least money may be used more effectively and a more balanced squad created.
{Ed001's Note - Gordon knows as much as Edwards and Hughes then. Both a pair of chancers making their name by taking the credit for other peoples' work. It is not a coincidence that clubs like Bournemouth, Brentford and Brighton continue to recruit well despite constantly having their sporting directors poached. I just don't understand why the bigger clubs think it is about the guy at the top, it is the system the clubs use and that is not being taken with them when they get poached.}

Thanks for the reply Ed and reassuring to know that the clown Hughes will not be left unaided.

Very good point that Ed. Also good to hear Gordon won't be stepping away.
In your opinion, do you think the fact that Gordon had to step in could be an indicator that FSG may currently have intentions to replace the Chuckle Brothers? or is there a possibility they'll be given a chance to redeem themselves? or do you think they might read the room, see there's no extension coming and decide to move on voluntarily?
{Ed001's Note - I fully expect them to move on, just a bit late to do now.}

Thanks is for the insight Ed. Out of curiosity, where do you think all this mess leaves Billy Hogan? Is he not technically higher up than Hughes so part of the mess as well? Could he not have done more?
I really don't understand the current LFC hierarchy. We have a CEO (BH), Sporting Director (RH) & a Chief Executive of Football (ME - whatever that title means!? ), and an FSG president (MG) that seems to have primary oversight and is largely credited with bringing in Klopp and modernising our recruitment and scouting systems.
So, if most of our good stuff comes down to FSG directly, what is the point in the others? Seems a right mess. I never thought I'd be sending my footballing prayers the hopeful ruthlessness of a yank businessman! ?
{Ed001's Note - Hogan runs the other side of the business, he is not there to get involved with football operations, that is Edwards remit as CEO of Football Operations.}

Yeah, Ed01. It's like a DOF at Ajax trying to take credit for how well they recruited to fit the style of play in a season they won the title.
However if I may Ed01, isn't what you described re/ club football/recruiting structure what was supposed to happen when Klopp would eventually leave? As in, we have a definite style of play that all teams from the youngsters to the senior pros and players are recruited to fit the scheme hence when Klopp would go, the whole structure was there and we don't miss a beat. because that is what I thought was going to happen when Klopp went.
Or was this the case of these two bozos coming in (esp. Edwards) and ripping everything up and introduce their own crap with buzz words like "Periodisation" just to make it look like they are smarter than they really are and take credit for it?
{Ed001's Note - that was supposed to happen but Edwards and Hughes don't seem to have got the memo.}

Shame we can't just dump Edwards and try to sweet talk Graham into replacing him.

I would love that, Lamborini.

Thanks Ed ?. Hope you are keeping well.
