Anyone else think we have a chance of winning the league next year?
Of course incomings and outgoings for all teams matter, but the Premier League feels weak right now so I think we could be in a with a shot. We were league winners only a year ago.

City didn't go along with the set-piece mantra. With a little more consistency, they could have won the league trying to play football. So, for me, yes, u don't have to be a set-piece focused team to win the league.

I think there is too much to do in our squad. We barely have a decent first 11 right now, meaning our bench is not great. When I look at Arsenal, they have a really good bench, and so do City.
I think United and Chelsea will be stronger too. We could win the league, but I don't think we will. We need a CDM, a midfielder, and a new centre back, most importantly, imo.

I think City would have won the league with less defensive injuries and a better goalkeeper. They weren't far off in the end, really was a poor season for most.
Also, in my original post, I mean the upcoming season (i.e. 2026/27).

I think Utd will struggle. The extra European games will affect them. Casemiro had his best season in years because of the one game a week schedule, and scored really important goals. I don't see them getting top 4. I think Chelsea, on the other hand, will benefit in the Premier League from no European football and having a strong coach in Alonso.

United will definitely strengthen. They finished 3rd n have plenty of money to do it. This time they can pick players who want to play in the Champ League.

It'll probably take a couple of months for Iraola to implement his style and get the players' fitness to a decent level.
Our squad looks very thin at the moment. We would need a couple of transfer windows to get a decent enough squad, I think.
If the football is better, and we give it a go - who knows? But all I really care about is playing better football because that's the foundation we can build on.

Between all the managers in the league, only Arteta has a title.
{Ed025's Note - Moyes has a title HAJI...."the boring one".. :)

If we signed the rumoured Palestra, Zabarnyi, Diomande, a midfielder and Rayan, then I'd say we will be in the mix come February.
{Ed025's Note - for the title or bankruptcy?.. :)

I don't see United posing a threat in all honesty. They may very well get a CL spot, but I think Carrick is another Ole. Bruno really carried that team this year and he was fantastic. I'm not sure how much of that is down to Carrick's tactics.

Well, we won the league 12 months ago so winning in 12 months time is entirely possible.
I wouldn't say it's likely, but certainly possible.

If you can win a league with 80-85 points, there is no reason not to go for it. As always, you need a bit of luck on the injury front and be careful of deep domestic cup runs putting stress on a small squad.

We have no chance. If last season, with losing 4 first team players, was anything to go by, then losing Salah; Robertson; Konate', possibly Szoboslai now too, MacAllister and maybe 3 or 4 other 2nd choice players, then no.
I would like to be wrong, that said.

Of course we have a chance.
It will depend on lots of different factors.
But if I've learned anything on here, the only factor that is relevant is the coach.
So, Iraola, it is all on you, brother.
