Hi ed1, what is your view on Wharton? Thanks
{Ed001's Note - hard to say, he looked much better initially but regressed under Glasner. Is that because of the way he shackled him and looked to play on the counter or just because he is not that good? I am not sure of the answer. He does lack a little mobility, he is a bit Mac Allister-like in that sense, in fact he is a bit like him but without the red face (that looks like he is about to explode at any second) and constant diving and play acting. But I get that same sense of a player that doesn't really fit.}

Ed001 he reminds me of Michael Carrick I would think him and Sobs would be a good pairing with Wirtz in the 10.
Gravenberch Ed had a great start under Slot but since he has been here that them 6 months have been the only time he has looked good because his passing is just so poor.
I would have liked the West Ham player that went to spurs he seemed to have the perfect mix in midfield.
{Ed001's Note - god no, he had a stinking attitude and was massively overrated. He never really even stood out in two crap sides.}

I agree Ed, don't understand that one but who am I to judge, would have thought a combative midfielder would have been answer.
That said we do miss having UK based players we do need them in the core of the team/squad.
Every team should have to play home talent.

ed1 - if we end up with more effective ball carriers on the wings, then we will need someone like Wharton (or a fully fit and firing Macca) along with Wirtz to play the balls through.
I don't like the fit per se, but can see the logic in hos his skillset would balance the team
{Ed001's Note - it wouldn't balance it though, we have plenty who can do that - Jones for example, Szobo is another. We lack bite and grit in midfield and he doesn't have either. To get balance, we need to add that.}

ed1 - personally I think we need to add two midfielders one with profile like Wharton and one like Sadiki / Camara etc. So I don't disgaree
