With Joe's unfortunate injury record, post-Southgate "red zone"-gate, there is only a slim chance they will both be on the field at the same time.

Joao Gomes has been on Liverpool's radar since at least late 2021/early 2022. He was mooted as a Gini replacement. We tend to continue to follow players we have scouted.

Exactly, Pelican. He has been linked to us for years. Not sure Iraola has anything to do with it. Just a case of him being available and the opportunity to sign him is there, imo.
