Watching Konate in first half for France last night made me feel even more positive about the new season.

AI's comments on bringing back the Anfield magic also exciting.

A few more signings in key positions (RB, CDM & W) and we'll be ready to go.

Roll on new season. YNWA.

Gotta say, he had some terrific games for us, but also some nightmares. He was the kind of player that was incapable of having a steady 6 or 7; he was either a 9 or a 2.

Probably his stand out performance was when he got man of the match in CL final v Real, and UEFA mistakenly gave the award to Courtois.

Yeh, was super in that game in fairness.

Agreed. More 2s than 9s in recent seasons though.

Upemachano is twice the player Konate is and it showed yesterday.

Upamachano was garbage yesterday.

Upemacano was garbage, but Konate was worse, which is why he was hooked at half time.

I honestly don't know what's happened to him. He has become an absolute liability after improving season on season up until last year.

He always had a bad moment in him, but now he looks like he's got no idea how to play the game.

Terrible player Konate. Always was.

Thought Lacroix (Crystal Palace) and his defensive partner were mediocre too. He's on the verge of joining Alonso today, both never won a tackle between them, Lacroix played the 90 mins.

Rogers and Lacroix going to Chelsea makes me even more confident that we have the best Basque manager in the PL for the many seasons to come.

"Dick" Emery, the Aston Villa manager, reportedly wants Gakpo to replace Rogers for circa £50 Million. Bournemouth signed a Spanish forward last week, Alvaro Rodriguez. Does that suggest one forward is leaving Bournemouth, one of either El Kroupi or Rayan?

Upmechano is the reason France scored 2 of their 4 goals! He was not garbage under the circumstances compared to Konate!

Great player Koate, should have been put him on half a mil per week to tie him down.

Seriously though, he was an absolute donkey of a thing on even a good day, watching him was like playing Buckaroo, he had the potential to kick off and do something unhinged at any moment, glad to see the back of him.

I think Konate is a 'confidence' player. If something gets to him it seems to knock him right off his stride. It's a shame because I think there is a footballer in there somewhere.
