Alex Crook this morning: “The next few weeks are going to be Very busy for Liverpool in the transfer market”.

I think Barcola is almost nailed on, but as for others, links have gone very quiet. I think Wharton is deffo on the cards - the fact no one else has moved for him is very telling, and seems to be an industry acknowledgment behind the scenes that he’s got his eyes on Liverpool.

As for others, not been many links - we might get some out of the blue signings like Munoz!

As for outgoings, I feel like there won’t be many given Iraola’s comments about wanting to hold on to key players. I do think Macca might be sold though with interest in Spain. Elliot might be used in a Wharton deal I think.

What’s everyone’s predictions?

Iraola has mentioned a few times, unprompted in his pressers, about signings and adding to the squad, so it's coming straight from the horse's mouth.

The club made a brave decision in sacking a title-winning manager, so I very much expect them to back the new guy.

I'd like to think at least another 3 signings will be coming in that will go straight into competing for first 11.

I don't have predictions, but of all the rumours in and out, what I would like to see happen is

Out
Cody, Macca

In
Barcola, Scott, Geertruida (not a rumour, but would like him for RB/CB).

Agreed, JK23. I think the positions we need to cover are:

Winger (Barcola)
Defensive midfielder
If Macca leaves, Wharton in.
Right back (starting)
CB

I could see a scenario in which we compromise and bring in a hybrid CB / RB option. Apparently, we have big interest in Acheampong, who is a huge talent once again rotting over at Chelsea.

Brave? I would argue long overdue, but that's my opinion. It was brave to keep him on when most of the fanbase had turned on him.

I do agree on the feeling they are gonna back him and go into this market planning to grab a few.

Mr Jones, only say brave, as I don't think it was guaranteed that he was definitely going to go.

If Slot had stayed, then Anfield would still have been sold out for the first home game of the season.

That's not me saying he should have stayed, because I was very much in the Slot out camp.

But replacing a manager who won the league and finished 5th with a manager who finished 6th is quite brave.

27 Jul 2026 12:07:44
The manager who finished 6th also had his entire back line decimated and his best forward sold, whereas the manager who finished 5th spent a few hundred million pounds "improving" the squad.

Consider the direction of travel, JK, and you probably have your answer.

27 Jul 2026 12:27:16
Calm down, gents. I'm not trying to defend Slot. I wanted him gone also.

Regardless of how you look at it, finishing 6th will always be worse than finishing 5th.

I'm saying it's brave from the owners. You can disagree as much as you want, but it won't change my opinion.

Excited to see what Iraola does with the club and squad.

Got you, JK ;) I was so upset with the guy last season, when I just hear his name, I start sweating and having heart palpitations. You def up there with some of my favourite posters. Was def not trying to have a go. Keep well.

Mr Jones don't be silly mate a bit of debate & two and fro is what the site is all about. Before the internet fans used to do it at games and the pubs. You can tell who the fans are that follow online are the ones that hit the 'triggered blocked' button as someone dare have a different opinion to them and they've probably never engaged in the flesh.

In regards to me being one of your favorite posters this is where Ed catches me out for having 2 accounts and giving myself some self praise like my other fellow best suporters in the world.
