Just with foresight in mind and looking at next summer. If we don't sign a defender this summer with vvd, tsimikas and Joe gomezs contract running out 2027, and at present the likelihood is they'll all leave and move on to pastures new.
That'll leave us with kerkez, Brad, leoni and jaquet as the only senior defenders we have. There is youth players who may in that 12 months step up and make the grade and hopefully they do. To have that depth required we'll need another lb, rb and 2 cbs. Surely that can't all be addressed in one summer the pragmatist in me says maybe make two good signings this year bed them in and address the others next year.
But we keep hearing these reports Liverpool aren't looking at defenders this window, anno we take these reports with a pinch of salt, but if they are true. Its a massive task next season in my eyes.
Before the haters jump in its not negatively just merely forsite.

I reckon we should see where we are at the end of the window.
Also, I expect the youth players (that can get WPs!) to feature in some games this season to see if they are up to the mark in proper games. They did well in preseason, but it's preseason.
