Any switched on fan doesn't discuss Wirtz after yesterday's display.
Central midfield will hamper us the entire season if we do not strengthen and provide at least competition. The entire window, my posts have been about midfield.
It doesn't matter about Barcola, Minteh or Wirtz if you concede goals like that from midfield mistakes. Someone has to sit back.
Grav does nothing to warrant a first team spot apart from availability and lack of competition.
The club have done Andoni no favours starting off a new season. Imo this certainly wouldn't have happened under Klopp.
If Klopp wanted midfielders they'd be here by now, especially as we have the money.
To make a mockery of midfield apparent targets, the known injured Gavi went off last night injured. It's laughable. Whether it was realistic or not, why are we going near anyone injured or known to be injured. That's not helping a new manager. That's hampering him.
We could have had boudia(spelling) but we've pissrd about and it's still all about Barcola.
Good luck to us and top 4 if we don't sign any midfielders.

Midfielders need to learn who goes and who stays. Both Dom and Ryan want to go forward and not sit. This is why Nyoni or Endo should start.

What's a switched on and switched off fan?
I thought all Liverpool fans were the best fans in the world.

Grav gave away the ball before both goals yday but also provided the 'assist' for Gakpo. I use speech marks cos it was just the last pass, but whatever. He is a good midfielder, but he isn't disciplined for the 6 role and he doesn't enjoy the defensive aspect like the best 6s do. The best 6s enjoy breaking up play. He also makes good runs forward, and then gets over excited and plays a silly pass, which is how he gave away the ball for both goals yday.
As a 6, he isn't the guy he could be with coaching, but right now he aint it, and his ill discipline to stay as the last line of defense and protect the back 4 will cost us dearly. However, he still has a couple years to peak, so can improve and is a great addition to the squad.

That midfield can be coached and worked on, but Isak will be the albatross around the neck holding the team back this season. I honestly can't see him scoring 50 goals during his time at the club, which would be an appalling return considering the price tag.

Well, the thing with Ryan wanting to be so high is what grants him that attacking freedom? He rarely scores or assists. Be a six or sit on the bench.

Grav does nothing to warrant a first team spot, apart from availability and lack of competition.
His new deal, worth £280 per week, warrants a first team spot.
24 Aug 2026 13:19:41
That midfield can be coached and worked on.
Tell this to Mr Klopp, who tried his best to coach players from Henderson to Wijnaldum before signing Fabinho.

Grav shouldn't be allowed past the centre circle, end of. Both players were caught out inside Newcastle's box for the first goal and in or around it for the second. Unacceptable. One goes, one stays; if you can't figure it out, you're benched. Get Nyoni in there, remind these fools how hard you work when you're not on £300k a week.
For the second goal, Wissa was initially surrounded by 3 Liverpool players, none of which bothered to break 3/4 pace to try and catch him, and he remained unchallenged for 40 yards.
For the last 15 yards of the play, Wissa and Willok were surrounded by 6 Liverpool shirts, none of which even bothered to even attempt a tackle. Everyone was waiting for someone else to do something.
The issues at hand go far beyond the midfield, I'm afraid.

Agreed re Isak, and the mad thing is, Andoni would not have chosen any of Frimpong, Isak, Wirtz, Rio or even Kerkez ( for
LFC ) so Edward fantasy football selection is exactly that - fantasy. Barcola won't suit the bustle, Minteh, on the other hand. Along with Munoz and Araujo should be great for Andoni. Hughes and Edwards are legends in their own minds.

JK, I've had a switched-on fan so long the motor burnt out, now its a switched-off fan, I blame global warming (but I don't believe in it).

Endo? Really? Is this what it's come to?
24 Aug 2026 13:44:24
4231 is the formation that the manager will stick to.
Notnijf is going to happen, except coaching the players to play how he wants. I think more compact pressing and risk transitions.
24 Aug 2026 13:47:48
One goes, one stays; if you can't figure it out, you're benched.
Aah, the good old days of Emre Can / Jordan Henderson midfield.
24 Aug 2026 14:54:19
We had more than enough back for the second goal yesterday. For whatever reason, none of them decided to put their foot in and actually make a tackle. It was schoolboy stuff.
24 Aug 2026 15:00:09
Chewy, I'm quite big on OnlyFans, mate.
I'll ask on there if anyone knows how to
fix your fan.
24 Aug 2026 15:00:11
It's hard to always be switched on as a fan though. I mean, who'd want to walk around with a stiffie all day long. ;)
24 Aug 2026 15:14:17
Yeah, don't mention Wirtz yesterday.
Ron Funk did, but I think he got away with it.
I remember Klopp wanting midfielders and getting Arthur Melo instead of the likes of Bellingham, Tchouameni and Valverde, who we'd been linked with.
I remember us agreeing a fee for Caceido, but getting Endo.
He was spoiled rotten, was Klopp.
24 Aug 2026 16:30:03
So Nyoni and Endo are both better than a World Cup winner?
Alexis Mac Allister? It's most obvious who the "weak" link is in mid-field clues? He was the first to be hooked!
24 Aug 2026 19:46:12
? Nice one, JK! They must be good if that's all they do!
